Seed Sales Manager

                                   

REPORTS TO:  Agronomy Sales & Marketing Manager                                    STATUS: Exempt

SALARY RANGE: $80,000- $130,000 / Year     

                                                                                               

PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT

 

Provides strategic leadership for the seed sales function within an assigned territory, driving revenue growth, market share, and profitability. Leads the development and execution of sales strategies while working cross-functionally with Sales Managers, Crop Specialists, and other divisions to deliver whole-farm solutions and maximize customer value.

SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP

 

Provides leadership, direction, and oversight to the seed sales function and Seed Operations team. Leads seed treatment strategy for the company. Develops and coaches Crop Specialists through structured sales coaching, performance management, and ongoing skill development to build a high-performing sales organization.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Provides strategic leadership for the seed sales function, establishing vision, direction, and priorities to achieve revenue growth, market share expansion, and profitability goals
  • Leads comprehensive sales planning, including development and execution of annual and seasonal plans, territory strategies, sales targets, product positioning, and customer segmentation
  • Directs and develops a high-performing sales team through structured coaching, mentorship, and continuous performance feedback
  • Conducts regular ride-a longs, customer visits, and account reviews to strengthen team capabilities
  • Establishes performance metrics and holds team accountable for sales and margin objectives
  • Drives execution of company goals and initiatives
  • Champions a coaching culture through training and development
  • Leads development of sales strategies, programs, and pricing models
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to align go-to-market strategies
  • Maintains relationships with key customers and supports complex sales
  • Oversees whole farm proposal development
  • Monitors market trends and competitive activity
  • Ensures CRM and sales tool utilization
  • Leads resolution of escalated customer issues
  • Oversees reporting, forecasting, and analytics
  • Ensures accurate records and reporting
  • Coordinates customer opportunity sharing across departments
  • Approves pricing, contracts, and credit processes
  • Supports marketing efforts and field visibility
  • Ensures compliance with policies and regulations

Maintains industry contacts, participates in presentations, maintains assigned vehicle, and performs other duties as assigned.

Follows Conserv FS's Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in agriculture, marketing, or related discipline and minimum of 4 years seed sales experience or equivalent. CCA certification preferred.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.

May be required to travel independently and overnight.

Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on Conserv FS's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
