Position: Family Chef
Location: Miami Beach, FL
Schedule: 4 Weekdays per Week (Potential for 5 Days)
Compensation: $40/hour (1099)
Start Date: August 10, 2026
Overview
A warm and welcoming family in Miami Beach is seeking a Family Chef to prepare simple, healthy, and family-friendly meals for their household. The role will primarily focus on preparing lunch and dinner, grocery shopping, menu planning, kitchen inventory management, and maintaining an organized kitchen.
The family is not looking for overly complicated or fine-dining cuisine. Instead, they would love a chef who can consistently prepare fresh, flavorful meals centered around quality proteins, vegetables, and starches while accommodating both adults and children. Candidates with restaurant experience are encouraged to apply, and prior private home experience is not required.
Schedule
  • Approximately 4 weekdays per week, with the potential for a 5th day
  • Lunch service around 1:00 PM
  • Dinner service around 7:00 PM
  • Flexible schedule for grocery shopping and provisioning
Responsibilities
Meal Preparation
  • Prepare lunch daily for two adults
  • Prepare dinner daily for a family of six (two adults and four children)
  • Create simple, nutritious, family-friendly meals
  • Prepare a variety of cuisines including American, Italian, grilled meats, chicken, fish, and seasonal dishes
  • Accommodate occasional adult dinner parties and gatherings
Kitchen Management
  • Menu planning and meal scheduling
  • Grocery shopping and provisioning (credit card provided)
  • Maintain kitchen inventory
  • Organize and restock pantry items
  • Ensure kitchen cleanliness and organization
  • Clean up after meal preparation and service
Ideal Candidate

  • Restaurant experience welcomed; private chef experience not required
  • Organized and self-sufficient

Additional Details
  • Family has one dog that does not enter the kitchen area
  • Family spends summers on Long Island from mid-June through mid-August
  • Travel is not required; however, candidates interested in traveling to Long Island during the summer may have the opportunity to do so for additional compensation
  • Occasional evening dinner parties may require later hours on select occasions
