Posting TextDakota State University is seeking an enthusiastic individual to embark on their career journey as our Science Lab Manager. This 9-month position is responsible for managing the science labs and preparing lab materials for biology, chemistry, physics, and/or geography labs.
Responsibilities:- Prepare lab materials for biology, chemistry, physics, and/or geography labs.
- Administer, train, and supervise student lab assistants.
- Prepare instructional materials and assist with grading and student support.
- Oversee the acquisition and stocking of teaching-related chemicals, lab supplies, equipment, and manuals.
- Facilitate lab safety and organize laboratory waste disposals.
- Supervise use and routine maintenance of teaching-related equipment and facilities.
- Teach science lab sections as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in natural or physical science or science-related field.
- Experience working in a laboratory setting.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Strong organization, attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to lift at least 10lbs.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:- Master's degree in natural or physical science or science-related field.
- Experience supervising student employees, teaching assistant, or interns
- Experience coordinating educational or outreach activities
- Prior teaching or instructional experience in a lab setting.
