Lactalis American Group, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Lab Lead based in Nampa, Idaho. The Lab lead assists and manages the enhancement of both technical and financial performance of the department under the direction of the Laboratory Management, including maintaining the accuracy of all major laboratory equipment, maintaining all lab equipment, and being a resource for people in and outside the lab.  The ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, flexible, and receptive to innovative ideas, pragmatic, analytical, and attentive to detail. He or she will also be capable of working independently in adherence to regulations, of managing stress and remaining calm under pressure, and be able to demonstrate an inquiring mind and well-developed observational skills. Will demonstrate a sense of responsibility and high professional standards, honesty and integrity, and objectivity. Possess values of ambition and engagement, with simplicity.


From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

Ensure all equipment is working properly, and all QC and PM's are done on time.

Troubleshoot and do repairs/maintenance of all lab equipment including FOSS equipment.

Organize your time to ensure all calibrations and validations are done when required.

Maintain all records associated with all lab equipment.

Communicate to Lab Management when equipment is out of compliance and what was done to bring it back in to compliance.

Email equipment validation reports to plant management.

Review chemistry results for accuracy and follow up with lab management if discrepancies are found

Communicate to Lab Management any parts needed to maintain/fix equipment as soon as possible to minimize down time.

Be an asset to all lab techs with the knowledge of all areas and job duties this position possesses by providing coaching when procedures aren't followed and provide answers when questions arise

Communicate to Plant management as requested the status of equipment that is being worked on.

Remain flexible with schedule to accommodate when machines need to be fixed/calibrated/

Other Duties as assigned.
