Job Description

The Kinetic Group CCI/Speer is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager who will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the assembly and implementation of high volume, repetitive production equipment and processes. Additionally, provide support for implementation of new products into existing or new processes.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct reviews of manufacturing operation process controls, equipment, and performance to provide guidance to the assigned engineering teams. Direct appropriate changes and resource allocation to achieve highest level of engineering support and achieve business objective goals.
  • Manage direct report employees by ensuring that objectives are mutually understood and aligned to achieve desired results.
  • Actively participate in site strategy development. Provide strategic guidance and technical initiatives for Engineering department to drive capability and technology growth.
  • Provide oversight and prioritization for capital projects. Implement capital projects on time and within budget. Will be multiple projects at a time (can be considered a capital program) requiring progress status updates.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of staff skillsets and competence. Provide feedback, evaluate work performance, and establish professional growth plans for direct reports.
  • Develop and implement (or improve) policies, standards, and procedures for technical work performed by the department or lab.
  • Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures, and making decisions about purchased materials or services.
  • Assist Safety Department with Process Hazard Analysis and incident investigations in manufacturing departments supported.
  • Improve Manufacturing Department productivity by making operations run faster, safer, and more reliably.
  • Provide product technical support for customer complaints/inquiries, and non-manufacturing support departments.
  • Support Quality Assurance with product testing and evaluation, including interaction with vendors and travel to other locations and countries as needed.

What you bring:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in an engineering discipline with 5 years manufacturing experience, or an A.A. degree in a technical or scientific field with at least 8 years manufacturing experience, or a high school diploma with at least 12 years manufacturing and machine & tooling design experience.
  • Experience managing multidiscipline capital projects.
  • Analytical troubleshooting skills.
  • Servant Leadership mindset.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and coaching skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma
  • Experience in metal forming or ammunition/firearms production

Work Environment:

Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations.

Pay Range:

$117,400.00 - $164,400.00

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
