Description
Responsible for promoting the events, services and resources of the County Libraries. Produces a variety of promotional materials for the library using graphic design and publishing software. Manages social media accounts for the library.
Assists with layout, development, and evaluation of marketing tools and content, including newsletters, editorials, flyers, TV slides, presentations, and other marketing materials.
Writes and edits compelling copy for different platforms and publications, while maintaining a consistent and appropriate tone for the library.
Serves as the Library's social media manager; designs social media graphics and campaigns to promote library events, services and resources. In consultation with Library leadership, responds to social media questions and comments as necessary.
Provides publications and graphics support to other library staff as requested, ensuring all publications comply with current design standards.
Photographs events and regular activities at the library for marketing purposes.
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; bachelor's degree in a field related to communication, journalism or public relations is preferred.
Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Must be able to work weekends and evenings, as required.
This job is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment checks to include criminal history, background and DMV record checks.
