A library bookstore is a retail space, often located within or affiliated with a library, that sells new or used books, magazines, and sometimes other media or library-related merchandise. These bookstores are often operated by library staff or volunteers and may be run by a Friends of the Library group. Proceeds from sales typically support library programs, services, or special events. Library bookstores can also serve as a community hub, offering affordable literature and promoting literacy. They may accept donations of gently used books from the public.

You may help patrons find both library materials and items for purchase, support library fundraising efforts, and organize special events or book sales. The role typically involves a mix of customer service, merchandising, and administrative tasks. Additionally, you'll likely develop a strong understanding of library resources and contribute to promoting literacy and community engagement.
