Job description

Summary/Objective:

The Ductile Scheduler supports the Ductile Shop Manager in maintaining and executing the production schedule to ensure accurate lead times and reliable shipping dates. This role is critical to achieving on-time delivery and maintaining strong customer satisfaction. This position serves as a key coordination point between Project Managers, the ductile shop, paint operations, and shipping/logistics. The Scheduler helps balance production priorities, integrate new and rush orders, and ensure alignment across all departments with current production capacity and timelines.

This is a full-time, in-person position with standard working hours of 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Employees are expected to be punctual and prepared to begin work at their scheduled start time each day. Reliability, attendance, and timeliness are essential to success in this role. Candidates who value strong attendance and consistent punctuality will be the best fit for this position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining and updating the daily production schedule based on shop capacity and priorities.
  • Partner with the Ductile Shop Manager to execute scheduling decisions and adjustments
  • Incorporate new orders into the schedule while maintaining realistic and achievable timelines.
  • Support coordination across ductile, paint, and shipping operations to ensure workflow continuity.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers (PMs) to provide accurate lead times and projected ship dates.
  • Manage and prioritize rush orders, ensuring clear communication across impacted departments.
  • Maintain consistent communication between PMs, shop personnel, paint, and shipping/logistics teams.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for schedule-related updates and inquiries.
  • Maintain and update scheduling tools (e.g., drop lists, tracking logs) to ensure visibility across teams.
  • Ensure all stakeholders have access to accurate, up-to-date scheduling information.
  • Identify potential bottlenecks or scheduling conflicts and escalate proactively.
  • Enter and maintain production data, including daily flange counts and order updates.
  • Support tracking and reporting of key operational metrics (KPIs).
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of scheduling and production data within systems.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel required (data entry, tracking, basic analysis)
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or similar ERP system preferred
  • Ability to learn and navigate internal scheduling and tracking tools
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills across multiple departments
  • Strong organizational and time management skills

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3 years of experience in production, scheduling, or administrative support preferred
  • Experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment is a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Based in a shop office environment within a fabrication facility
  • Regular interaction with production personnel on the shop floor
  • Must be able to access the shop floor and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
