Job description

Position Summary:
The Scheduler's responsibility is to assure production is scheduled accurately to achieve 100% on time delivery with minimal inventory. Also responsible for production scheduling, to make the most efficient use of time and resources. The scheduler determines what parts to produce and when. Production schedulers decide which products to build and the machines or production lines that will produce them. Must also keep track of production numbers and anticipate problems that could affect the schedule.

Position Responsibilities may include;
  • Prepare daily reporting consisting of schedules, potential schedules, forecast predictions, and status updates. Communicate this information to all applicable department/production personnel.
  • Schedule daily production and maintain manufacturing orders for assigned department(s).
  • Create and maintain MAPICS manufacturing orders and prioritize accordingly.
  • Verify daily completions for accuracy.
  • Evaluate and analyze production progress and identifies possible risk to schedule. Recommend resolutions to mitigate project delays, as needed to each department.
  • Interact with other operations personnel for current and future customer demand. Communicate/Adhere with the top management and the workers on company policy and procedures.
  • Provide quick response regarding production issues.
  • Identify problems and help provide solutions to drive continuous improvement.
  • Follow all safety procedures/policies and 5-s to maintain clean organized work area.
  • Perform addition duties as required
Nature and Scope:
  • Works under close supervision. Follows defined processes.
  • Leads own work with guidance.
  • Takes direction from others. Learns a scoped process.
  • Follows process plan. Participates in process design activities with other team members.
  • Works to written process documentation and standards. Implements to already defined process.
  • Communicates with immediate team members.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills to all levels of the company and customers.
  • Familiar with MS Excel/Word/Outlook including ability to manipulate functions, charts and pivot tables.
  • Understanding of MAPICS preferred.
  • Good problem-solving techniques.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • A desire to promote the success of the organization and production staff.
Experience:
  • 2 years in Planning preferred but not mandatory.
Education:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Four-year college business degree preferred.
  • APICS Certification preferred but not mandatory.
