Job description

SAP HCM Consultant Location: Columbia, SC Hybrid (2-3 days in office, 2-3 days remote). Interview Process: 1 round, Virtual/Online Duration: 12 Months Employment Type: Contract Experience Required: 08+ Years Candidate Location: Candidate MUST be a SC resident or willing to relocate to SC prior to starting the role at their own expense. Project Scope: The selected consultant will serve as a technical resource supporting SAP HCM functional teams in the maintenance, enhancement, and support of SAP Human Resources and Payroll functionalities.

The role involves full lifecycle project participation, SAP HCM development, troubleshooting, payroll support, and technical solution delivery within a Public Sector environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, code, test, and implement SAP HCM application programs and enhancements. Support SAP HR and Payroll (PY) module configurations and custom developments.

Troubleshoot and resolve SAP application, payroll, and performance-related issues. Provide functional and technical design solutions based on business requirements. Develop custom infotypes, macros, dynamic actions, and remuneration statement enhancements.

Work with HR cluster tables, payroll schemas, and BSI tax software applications. Assist with SAP upgrades, support packs, OSS notes, and enhancement implementations. Support lifecycle activities from design through deployment and post-production support.

Facilitate requirements gathering sessions and identify process improvement opportunities. Maintain technical documentation, testing artifacts, and support logs. Provide after-hours production support as needed.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues across multiple SAP functional areas. Required Skills & Experience: 7+ years of SAP HCM experience Experience in SAP HR and Payroll module configuration and support Experience with custom infotypes and SAP HCM enhancements Knowledge of payroll schemas, HR cluster tables, and structural authorizations Experience with SAP OSS Notes, upgrades, support packs, and troubleshooting Strong ABAP development and technical problem-solving skills Experience supporting Public Sector SAP implementations Excellent written and verbal communication skills Preferred Skills: SAP Certification Experience with SAP Public Sector implementations Knowledge of BSI 10.0 Tax Software Experience leading SAP HCM implementation activities Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Business, or equivalent experience.
