Job description

SALARY: Begins at $15.69/hr

ACTIVELY HIRING: Sampson Area Transportation (SAT) needs customer-service focused drivers to assist local residents in need of transportation services. Ideal candidate is dependable, adaptable, empathetic to needs of patrons, and good when interacting with general public. SAT Drivers are responsible for safely and reliably transporting passengers to locations in and around the Sampson County area of operation.

DESCRIPTION OR WORK: Duties consist of operation of a motor vehicle to insure safe transportation of clients, drive vehicles on designated routes and out of town medical appointments, reports need of vehicle maintenance, records mileage and times on forms, collects and accounts for fares and assists clients as needed. Must be able to lift 60 pounds. Schedule will vary from week to week.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Applicant should be a high school graduate or equivalent. Must possess a valid NC Driver's license. Must meet qualifications as set out in Sampson County's Vehicle Fleet Policy and pass a FTA pre-employment drug test.
