Summary
Drive/operate ten (10) yard dump truck with trailer and other County equipment to facilitate the construction, repair, rebuilding and all related maintenance of roadways.
Job Duties
  • Operation of heavy dump trucks, pup trailers, low-boys, tilt trailers and tankers for repair, maintenance and construction of roadways.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and servicing of assigned equipment to ensure safe, operational status.
  • Ensure a safe work environment for maintenance crews and the general public.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to service and perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
  • Ability to recognize hazards and safety problems.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and requirements related to the trucking industry to ensure safety of employees and the general public.
  • Knowledge of modern practices, methods and materials used in maintenance, repair and construction of roadways.
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with other employees.
  • Ability to communicate, understand and carry out oral and written instruction.
  • Ability safely drive truck/trailer combinations on narrow roadways, with no shoulders in all traffic situations.
  • Ability to successfully complete required training courses.

Education, Experience & Certifications
  • Valid Washington State Combination Drivers License.
  • Flagger Certification.
  • State Pesticide License (Possible requirement).
  • Experience related to the trucking and hauling industry.
