What is a Salesforce professional?

Salesforce is a platform for customer relationship management (CRM). It features a variety of software and application tools for managing marketing, customer service, sales, customer data, and online engagement. Salesforce is a cloud-based platform, so companies can apply the applications to their web properties and social media accounts without having to install all facets of a CRM platform on their server. Companies that use Salesforce include telecommunications, entertainment, finance, healthcare, tech, and retail companies. Government agencies, nonprofits, and manufacturing companies also use the platform.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Salesforce administrator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Salesforce Administrator, you need a strong grasp of CRM concepts, data management, workflow automation, and a Salesforce Administrator certification (such as Salesforce Certified Administrator). Familiarity with Salesforce platforms, data reporting tools, and process builder are typically required. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills help you effectively support users and collaborate with stakeholders. These skills ensure efficient management of the Salesforce environment, leading to improved business processes and user satisfaction.

About Salesforce
Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn't a buzzword - it's a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.
Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.
IN SCHOOL OR GRADUATED WITHIN THE LAST 12 MONTHS? PLEASE VISIT FUTURE FORCE FOR OPPORTUNITIES*
The Experience
You'll be joining the Lists Team within Salesforce Core Platform - a highly collaborative, full-stack engineering group that owns the Lists product end-to-end on the Salesforce Core Application. Our backend pillar builds foundational Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and services in Java, owning all the code that supports list views, related lists, and their creation, updates, filtering, and deletion. Our frontend pillar creates client-side display layers in Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Aura, allowing users to find and interact with their data. We have backend- and frontend-focused engineers, but we work as one seamless unit and share ownership of critical, reusable components like LWC Common Lists, which are used by teams across Salesforce to build their own list-based interfaces. As key contributors to strategic company initiatives, we are actively building new List functionality for Agentforce-related projects - and your lines of code will have significant, measurable impact for users, our customers, and the industry.
What You'll Actually Be Doing
  • Architect, design, implement, test, and deliver highly scalable products
  • Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, with AI as a core part of your development workflow - pushing the boundaries of AI development tools to deliver secure, optimized, and high-quality code
  • Design and orchestrate complex systems where AI agents integrate seamlessly into human workflows, driving efficiency and innovation at scale
  • Contribute to building and maintaining shared system context - an explicit repository of system designs, constraints, and standards that enables AI to operate accurately and reliably; critically evaluate code (human- or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance
  • Master our development process, culture, and codebase - then improve it
  • Operate efficiently in a hybrid engineering model where engineers are encouraged to craft and implement work that ensures quality in their own code as well as across specialties
  • Mentor others in development technologies, tools, and processes
  • Present your own designs to internal and external groups and review designs of others
  • Develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, and write unit and functional tests to drive code coverage and automation metrics
  • Participate in the team's on-call rotation to address complex problems in real time and keep services operational and highly available

You're Our Person If...
Leveling will be determined by demonstrated skills and experience and performance in the interview process.
  • You have 3+ years of professional software development experience (Member of Technical Staff (MTS)) or 5+ years (Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS))
  • You are proficient in Java
  • You have a solid understanding of and experience with web technologies such as JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), HyperText Markup Language 5 (HTML5), Extensible Markup Language (XML), JavaScript Object Notation (JSON), and/or Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (Ajax)
  • You have a solid understanding of database technologies such as Structured Query Language (SQL), Procedural Language/SQL (PL/SQL), and relational database schema design
  • You have experience in automated testing including unit and functional testing using Java, JUnit, JSUnit, and Selenium
  • You have experience working with and developing for AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
  • You bring a demonstrated, genuine AI-first approach to engineering - using AI to move faster, build fluency across the stack, and contribute well beyond your core specialty
  • You have experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, Cursor, etc.) in development workflows
  • You have advanced prompt engineering skills and the ability to write precise, structured prompts and cultivate the system context that makes AI outputs reliable, secure, and production-ready
  • You communicate clearly and effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • A related technical degree required.

Even Better If...
  • You have experience with Lightning Web Components (LWC)
  • You have working experience with multiple front-end frameworks such as Angular, Vue, Ember, or React, and can speak to the qualities of each
  • You have experience building highly scalable web applications
  • You have experience with Agile software development and test-driven development
