Job Description

NYCERS IT Custom Solutions unit is seeking an experienced professional to serve as a Salesforce Developer. Under general direction, the successful candidate will design, develop, test and deploy custom/non-custom Salesforce solutions following SDLC standards with strong communication and client relations skills, with the ability to clarify and simplify business requirements and be able to carry the solution to the next level. This role demands a high degree of independent judgment and technical expertise. Candidate with java experience is a big plus.
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
- Customize and configure Salesforce applications to meet business needs, including creating custom objects, fields, workflows, and validation rules.
- Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and other systems using APIs and middleware.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Salesforce applications, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, turnover documents (runbook for operations), code comments, and user guides.
- Stay up to date with Salesforce releases, features, and best practices, and implement improvements as necessary.
- Participate in code reviews and follow best practices for coding, testing, and deployment.
- Be able to work with other Developers/Administrators through the components that make up the solution leveraging Service Cloud, Community Cloud, and Marketing Cloud/Social Studio.
- Be able to provide internal training to teammates as well as business users
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to tailor solutions to customer needs.
- Ability to envision solutions and understand the process steps from start to finish.
- Ability to work independently and in team-based environment
- Work well under pressure

Qualifications

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
