Job Summary:
The Sales Trainer reports directly to the Director of Recruitment and Training and is responsible for designing, implementing, and delivering comprehensive training programs for new and existing timeshare sales representatives. This role focuses on strengthening sales presentation techniques, product knowledge, customer engagement, and closing strategies while ensuring full compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
The Sales Trainer plays a critical role in driving revenue performance by coaching sales teams, evaluating presentation effectiveness, and implementing continuous training initiatives that improve sales conversion and overall team performance. This position requires a high-energy leader with exceptional communication, presentation, and motivational skills who can inspire both new and experienced sales professionals to achieve peak performance.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Sales Training & Development
  • Design, implement, and deliver engaging sales training programs focused on timeshare presentation techniques, objection handling, and closing strategies.
  • Conduct onboarding and structured training programs for all new sales representatives.
  • Facilitate ongoing development sessions for existing sales representatives, sales managers, and support staff.
  • Ensure all team members remain current with updates to sales processes, technology platforms, and company initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain training materials, manuals, presentations, and multimedia learning tools.

Coaching & Performance Improvement
  • Observe sales presentations and provide real-time coaching and feedback.
  • Conduct one-on-one mentoring sessions with sales representatives to improve individual performance.
  • Implement structured follow-up training plans for new hires at 30-, 60-, 90-, and 180-day milestones and at the one-year mark.
  • Conduct sales rides, evaluations, and coaching sessions to ensure adherence to company sales processes and standards.
  • Successfully transition new hires from training into productive sales roles on the sales floor.

Sales Performance Analysis
  • Analyze site-level sales performance and develop action plans to improve productivity, conversion rates, and efficiency.
  • Track training effectiveness through performance metrics, sales data, and participant feedback.
  • Utilize internal systems and databases to maintain training records and produce performance reports.

Leadership & Communication
  • Partner with the VP of Sales, Senior Sales Managers, and site leadership teams to identify training needs and performance improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct regular sales meetings, boot camps, roundtables, and motivational sessions to drive engagement and results.
  • Communicate training progress and recommendations to executive leadership.

Recruiting Support
  • Partner with the Recruitment team to support the hiring process for sales representatives.
  • Assist with interviewing, evaluating, and selecting candidates for upcoming training classes.
  • Align recruiting efforts with scheduled training programs and staffing needs across sales locations.

Operational Support
  • Manage and update training content within the company's Learning Management System (LMS) and other sales platforms.
  • Provide occasional sales floor support, including podium presentations or assisting with closing transactions when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
Education
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of timeshare or vacation ownership sales experience required
  • Previous sales training, coaching, or leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of strong sales performance and closing ability

Skills & Competencies
  • Exceptional communication and public speaking skills
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and motivational leadership abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of sales concepts, negotiation strategies, and objection handling
  • Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills
  • Ability to analyze sales performance data and implement improvement strategies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and other computer applications
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) preferred

  • Travel between sales locations may be required.
