General Summary:The incumbent is responsible for partnering with National Client Group and Field Sales & Client Management partners to develop customized finalist meeting presentation strategy and content. In addition, incumbent will be responsible for providing content and support to Large Case Specialists and Client Development Specialists during pre-prospecting/market development efforts. The incumbent will work to ensure that sales support content incorporates Unum value story messaging.Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work collaboratively and in partnership with large case reps, National Sales Directors, and Client Development Specialists in customizing finalist sales or broker meeting presentation strategy; apply best practices identified through content management sources and working with other prospects, sales specialists, broker relationship specialists, and Unum product and service teams.

  • Identify the ideal content and approach based on meeting objective and audience needs

  • Innovate new or refined client/broker specialized content and apply tools and techniques to most effectively position Unum's value proposition in comparison to competitive offerings.

  • Facilitate finalist meeting prep and practice sessions, coaching presenters on effective presentation techniques and product messaging.

  • Debrief with the presentation team after meetings to identify trends and learnings.

  • Work with Marketing to assess content needs and incorporate for future meetings and sales support activities.

  • Actively communicate newest content to Large Case Field Sales & Client Management teams and other stakeholders that support Large Case sales.

  • Help position Unum's differentiation strategies for National Client Group prospects, Voluntary Benefits prospects, and Large Case brokers.

  • Support pre-prospecting efforts by the field, including developing slide decks, flyers, emails, or other formats as needed

  • Provide webinars-training to Field Sales & Client Management on best practices for finalist strategy and presentations

  • Incorporate competitive positioning in Large Case sales support and finalist strategy to enable Field Sales & Client Management effectively position and differentiate Unum's offerings.

  • Act as a role model in building relationships with internal partners (IT, Products, Marketing, Benefits and Voluntary Benefits) in alignment with the company's strategy and direction.

  • Leverage content management tools to organize, update, and govern digital assets, improving accessibility, usability, and brand consistency.

  • May perform other duties as assigned

Job Specifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience
  • Exceptional business presentation development and design skills
  • Experience with business-to-business sales process and marketing methods
  • Working knowledge of Large Case marketplace dynamics in employee benefits or similar industry
  • Insurance or similar business experience in one or more of the following areas: Sales, Client Services, Underwriting, Benefit Center, Broker Distribution/Field service support - Large Case experience preferred
  • Clear, in-depth understanding of Unum's products, services, and processes with emphasis on digital capabilities, product features, claim management/process, embedded services. Alternatively, experience marketing or selling other complex insurance, financial, or tech products and services
  • Solid leadership skills and ability navigate relevant areas of the company and work collaboratively with all levels of employees in achieving results
  • Strong collaboration, coaching and training skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be creative, with a results orientation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical and sales marketing writing skills
  • Ability to understand Unum's prospect audience, their daily pain-points and industry pressures; ability to tailor Unum's capabilities and value proposition to the external audience's perspective
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work well under pressure, manage multiple priorities and deliver within tight deadlines

The base salary range for applicants for this position is listed below. Unless actual salary is indicated above in the job description, actual pay will be based on skill, geographical location and experience.

$63,500.00-$120,000.00

Additionally, Unum offers a portfolio of benefits and rewards that are competitive and comprehensive including healthcare benefits (health, vision, dental), insurance benefits (short & long-term disability), performance-based incentive plans, paid time off, and a 401(k) retirement plan with an employer match up to 5% and an additional 4.5% contribution whether you contribute to the plan or not. All benefits are subject to the terms and conditions of individual Plans.
