Position Title: Operations Manager
Department: Manufacturing

The Opportunity
Manage manufacturing operations of division location, including the safety, quality, continuous improvement, production, and warehouse/shipping functions. Support and maintain an appropriate safety program to improve overall safety performance and employee well-being. Plan, direct, and coordinate the operations of production departments in conjunction with production personnel. Responsible for development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods. Develop manpower requirements and set priorities for production schedules. Lead and drive the capital process from justification to implementation. Drive continuous improvement and quality standards for the facility to meet and exceed our customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Production Leadership Team to create a unified effort for manufacturing a quality product in an efficient and safe manner.
  • Direct and coordinate production and distribution activities of manufacturing facility.
  • Develop production plans that will support the company's efforts to grow the business in both the short and long term.
  • Review processing schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments, considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and coach staff, and resolve personnel situations in coordination with Human Resources.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports.
  • Work Closely with Human Resources to ensure employee, engagement, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational reports, to detect production problems.
  • Support the safety function of the facility, continuing to improve the safety performance of the plant year over year.
  • Develop budgets and approve expenditures for capital expenditures, supplies, materials, and human resources, ensuring that materials, labor, and equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.
  • Work closely with the Plant Manager to develop and execute an appropriate strategy for the business.
  • Own the capital expenditure process from the justification phase to the implementation phase. Ensure projects are managed to budget.
  • Manage and direct Supply Chain purchasing strategy and tactics to drive cost saving and superior delivery performance.
  • Coordinate with Industrial Engineer to ensure manufacturing facilities and production equipment is maintained, down-time is minimized, and effective preventive maintenance program is in place.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationship with other departments within the division (i.e. sales, engineering, accounting, human resources). Encourage teamwork within division and across all divisions.

Qualifications:
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) required; Master's Degree preferred; 7+ years related senior manufacturing management experience required.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel and Word); Microsoft Outlook Email/Calendar; ERP System Exposure; Dynamics AX and/or M2M experience preferred.
  • Other Preferences: Strong manufacturing management background with experience in lean manufacturing and/or six-sigma principles; Keen understanding of manufacturing operations. High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 15% of the time.
