Territory Manager - Baseball/Softball | Northern California (Field-based)

What You'll Do

Based in the greater Sacramento, California, area, the Territory Manager - Baseball/Softball manages the relationships, sales efforts and operations for a defined territory (Northern California) to achieve and exceed revenue targets and market share growth objectives. This role will be responsible to not only call on the existing account base in that region but to also build relationships and service grass root programs and academic programs (middle school, high school and college). Qualified candidates must have an elevated level of product knowledge and be passionate about sports, specifically baseball and softball.

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Achieve the annual territory sales plan revenue and distribution objectives in the defined territory and meet the annual key product category objectives
  • Develop, plan, and execute a strategic sales plan in selling to and managing team dealers, sporting goods retailers, and other trade channels
  • Maximize in-person contact and sales call coverage with assigned accounts, colleges, universities, high schools, travel organizations, and trade channels
  • Drive consumer demand and brand presence through grassroots and promotional activities
  • Aggressively seek out and develop new business partners and accounts strategically within territory
  • File various reports and utilize Sales Force on a timely basis
  • Achieve targets in use of Wilson Team Shop for team sales
  • Other duties as requested
What We're Looking For

We are seeking candidates with a Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university and a minimum of 3 years of sales experience in packaged goods or related industry. Experience selling in the team sports industry preferred. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, an equivalent combination of work experience, training, and education will be considered.

Other qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated ability to sell, influence and negotiate
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required within and outside the organization
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical ability, and strategic planning
  • Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Products: Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Knowledge of SAP preferred
  • Must have reliable transportation; home office environment required
  • Passion for team-based sports strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel up to 80% within the United States, limited overnight travel
  • Must be able to lift bags of product weighing 30-40 pounds
  • Must be able to transport multiple bags of bats, gloves, and equipment to and from athletic fields

A reasonable estimate of the pay range is $80,000 - $110,000 per year at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and/or training. Please note that the range details reflect the base pay only and does not include our competitive bonus program.
