OUTSIDE SALES
Big C Lumber in Coloma, MI is currently seeking an Outside Sales Representative to the lakeshore area including St Joe, South Haven and Saugatuck market. This is a full-time position with benefits. Knowledge of building materials and a minimum of 5 years industry experience is required. Must be proficient in takeoffs and blueprint reading.

Outside Sales Essential Functions:
  • #1 priority is to ensure customer satisfaction while never compromising safety
  • Building material sales to professional builders, remodelers, and serious do-it-yourselfers.
  • Develop and attain sales and margin goals
  • Expand customer base
  • Expand sales within current customer base
  • Complete frequent on-site job inspections
  • Maintain company vehicle
  • Coordinate deliveries
  • Maintain appropriate records
  • Provide accurate, timely quotations
  • Communicate clearly, accurately, and effectively with employees, management, customers, and suppliers
  • Perform any special assignment/projects as required by the contractor sales manager, general manager
Education/Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Minimum 5 years' industry experience
  • Proficient in takeoff's and blueprint reading
Requirements/Abilities:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Advanced estimating and blueprint reading skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Self-motivation
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to routinely lift, carry, and move 40 lbs.
  • Ability to coordinate as well as work in a team
  • Ability to learn in-house software
