How much do sales internships jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 13, 2026, the average yearly pay for sales internships in the United States is $81,617.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $53,000.00 and $96,500.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are the big 4 internships?

The 'Big 4' internships typically refer to internship programs offered by the four largest professional services firms: Deloitte, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), Ernst & Young (EY), and KPMG. These internships provide experience in auditing, consulting, tax, and advisory services and are highly competitive for students pursuing careers in accounting and finance.

What types of tasks are typically assigned to sales interns, and how do they contribute to the overall sales team?

Sales interns often assist with lead generation, market research, updating customer databases, and supporting sales representatives with administrative tasks such as preparing presentations or reports. You'll likely participate in team meetings, shadow client calls, and may be assigned your own small projects or sales targets, depending on the company. These tasks offer hands-on learning opportunities and provide valuable insights into the full sales cycle. By handling these responsibilities, interns play an important support role while building foundational sales experience to further their careers.

What is a Sales Internships job?

A Sales Internship is a temporary position that provides hands-on experience in sales, typically for students or recent graduates. Interns assist in lead generation, client outreach, market research, and sales calls while learning communication and negotiation skills. These internships help develop industry knowledge and provide exposure to sales strategies, tools, and customer relationship management. Successful interns may receive job offers or gain valuable experience for future sales roles.

Is 22 too old for an internship?

Sales internships are typically open to a wide age range, and 22 is not considered too old to apply. Many internships value skills, motivation, and willingness to learn over age, and candidates of various ages participate successfully.

Is $30 an hour good for an intern?

For a sales internship, earning $30 an hour is considered above average, as most internships pay lower rates or offer stipends. Interns typically gain experience and skills rather than high pay, but this rate can be competitive depending on the industry and location.

What do you do as a sales intern?

A sales intern supports the sales team by assisting with customer outreach, lead generation, and market research. They often learn sales techniques, use customer relationship management (CRM) tools, and gain experience in client communication and product promotion. The role typically involves shadowing sales professionals and participating in training sessions.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Sales Internships position, and why are they important?

To thrive in Sales Internships, candidates should possess strong communication skills, a basic understanding of sales principles, and preferably be enrolled in or have completed coursework in business or related fields. Familiarity with CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and often data analysis tools is beneficial but not always required. Initiative, adaptability, and willingness to learn are standout soft skills for this position. These competencies help interns effectively support sales teams, rapidly absorb new information, and contribute to achieving organizational sales goals.
