Sales Director – East Houston
COMPANY
Our client is an industrial warehouse operator located near the Port of Houston. The Company operates over one million square feet of warehouse space across six warehouse locations. The Company specializes in heavy lift services by operating indoor and outdoor cranes capable of lifting over 100 tons. The Company also offers climate-controlled storage and is one of the largest Foreign Trade Zone operators in Texas.
SCOPE
The Sales Director is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying project leads, creating and delivering sales quotes and closing sales across all accounts. The Sales Director liaises between customers and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of services according to customer needs. Quality, work efficiency, superior customer service and satisfaction are paramount. This position requires leadership, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. As the business expands, this person will be responsible for the additional recruitment, development, and management of new sales staffs. Consistent development and mentorship of employees will also be paramount. This person will be a collaborative and hands-on leader.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Drive sales by following up with customers on existing contracts and delivering new contracts. Build and sustain customer relationships and maintain a detailed list of contacts and communications.
  • Conduct industry research and identify new potential customers. Initiate communications with potential new customers and follow up on communications.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations and Account Management to execute customer requirements.
  • Develop and present customer KPI data during monthly Management meetings.
  • Work closely internally and externally to understand projected future storage capacity by warehouse location.
  • Manage the timely execution of purchase order placement and ensure all stakeholders understand customer requirements and deadlines.
  • Develop an understanding of the industrial warehousing and freight forwarding industry in general and the businesses of our major customers.
  • Learn market pricing and the details of DCI pricing models. Develop DCI’s ongoing pricing strategy to increase volume and profitability.
  • Build customer specific pricing models to calculate square footage requirements, revenue and profitability.
  • Recommend adjustments to forecast and inventory targets based on changes in demand and market trends.
  • Supervising, coaching, developing, and evaluating the team to ensure a positive and productive work environment which promotes achievement and recognition for success.
QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of experience in logistics or warehouse sales and account management.
Demonstrated ability to drive results; able to monitor activities, analyze data, identify problems, and develop solutions.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to manage time effectively.
Self-motivated, results-driven, and detail-oriented.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
Familiarity with account management and inventory software.
Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
SALARY
