Job description

Most people hear “Sales Development Representative” and immediately picture a giant sales center, robotic scripts, pressure tactics, and managers obsessing over call counts, time spent on each interaction, and how much quantity you can churn out.

That’s not this. That’s not Sandbox +.

Yes, there will be expectations and metrics, and yes we will have parameters around which we operate, but we’re looking for a Sales Development Representative (SDR) who approaches the conversation through the lens of two questions.

“Is this the right fit for the customer?” and “Is this best for Sandbox?”

As the Sales Development Representative you will likely be the first real interaction homeowners have with Sandbox+. That means being the voice that helps people feel comfortable, informed, and confident enough to take the next step with us. Some conversations will be with brand new inbound leads for Solar or HVAC. Others will be with existing Sandbox+ customers checking out our additional offerings, like batteries, HVAC, or service plans. Either way, this role is less about “hard selling” and much more about building trust, listening well, asking good questions, and creating a strong first impression.

If you’re someone who likes talking to people, naturally builds rapport, stays organized, and communicates calmly and professionally, you’ll probably enjoy this role a lot. But honestly, the role is only part of the opportunity.

Sandbox+ is growing fast. Really fast.

We’ve won local, state, and national awards for growth, innovation, quality, and workplace culture from organizations like Colorado Companies to Watch, NoCO Style, BizWest, Denver Business Journal, Solar Power World, Nextdoor, and the International Electrical Contractors Association. The people who do well here tend to be people who genuinely want to grow alongside the company instead of just finding a place to collect a paycheck.
Check out this video on what it's like to work for Sandbox +

This role is a strong opportunity for someone with a solid work history and customer-facing experience who…

  • Responds to inbound homeowner leads promptly and professionally
  • Has a knack for connecting with others in ways that help them feel comfortable
  • Knows how to build rapport and ask thoughtful qualifying questions
  • Can identify good, better, and best fit sales opportunities for both the customer and Sandbox +
  • Takes initiative in creating a smooth handoff between customers and the sales team
  • Is meticulous at documenting conversations and customer details accurately in CRM system

We Require:

  • A High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years experience in customer-facing work preferred
  • Strong communication, organization and active listening skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and willingness to learn CRM systems
  • A valid driver’s license with clean record

This will not be the right opportunity for

  • Dislike talking on the phone or consistently interacting with others throughout the day
  • Might drop the ball and not follow up with leads, customers, or internal teams
  • Aren’t personable, confident, and credible enough to represent Sandbox+ professionally
  • Lack self-directed initiative, drive, and a sense of urgency
  • Operate with a high-pressure sales approach rather than relationship building

A background check will be required for this role.
We estimate this job will be filled by June 15, but we may extend it.
Salary for this role starts at $25/hr + performance incentives.
