Who We're Looking For: We are seeking a highly driven and results-oriented Business Development professional to expand our energy consulting services. This role is responsible for identifying and qualifying new opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and supporting revenue growth across the commercial, industrial, institutional, healthcare, higher education, multifamily, and public sectors. The ideal candidate is an energetic sales professional with exceptional communication skills, strong business acumen, and a passion for helping organizations achieve their energy and operational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Energy Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • Experience: 5+ years of business development, account management, or client relationship experience, preferably within energy consulting, energy efficiency, energy technology, utilities, engineering, or professional services
  • Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and organizational skills with the ability to influence decision-makers and develop strategic partnerships; organized; outgoing; ability to comprehend and convey technical information and services to prospective clients.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Mastery of the English language - written and spoken
    • Valid driver's license
    • Reliable transportation
    • Maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings as needed for client meetings, networking events, and other business development activities

Responsibilities:

This position plays a vital role in expanding the company's market presence by identifying new business opportunities and developing strategic relationships for energy consulting services, including energy audits, (retro)commissioning, utility cost reduction initiatives, decarbonization planning, sustainability initiatives, building optimization, energy retrofits, and related advisory services. The successful candidate will actively prospect, qualify leads, coordinate client engagement activities, and collaborate with technical consultants to deliver customized energy solutions that help clients reduce costs, improve operational performance, and meet sustainability objectives.

  • Develop and execute targeted sales development strategies that generate qualified leads, build a healthy sales pipeline, and contribute to revenue growth across assigned markets.
  • Source, research, and identify prospective clients through market analysis, networking, referrals, outbound prospecting, and industry events within commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, government, and real estate sectors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with facility managers, energy managers, sustainability leaders, CFOs, operations executives, property owners, developers, utilities, and other key decision-makers to identify opportunities and expand existing accounts.
  • Qualify opportunities, coordinate meetings and presentations, support proposal development, evaluate project opportunities with leadership, and advance prospects through the sales pipeline.
  • Achieve established performance goals for lead generation, prospecting activity, appointments, pipeline development, and sales growth while continuously improving prospecting strategies and conversion rates.
  • Collaborate with marketing, engineering, energy consultants, and operations teams to align client needs with customized energy solutions, develop marketing initiatives, and ensure a seamless client experience.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade associations, networking events, utility-sponsored programs, and client meetings to strengthen brand awareness, cultivate relationships, and generate new business opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales activity, timesheets, and expense reports while proactively managing client relationships, supporting customer retention, participating in team meetings, and performing additional responsibilities as assigned.
