The Position:

We are currently hiring a Safety Coordinator at our Emmetsburg location. We are looking for candidates who are innovative, self-motivated, with exceptional decision-making skills.


The Safety Coordinator will collaborate with our Safety Manager to develop and implement health and safety plans that promote a culture of safety. They will encourage best practices, provide training, lead health and safety meetings, and conduct root cause analyses to address and correct safety issues. The Safety Coordinator will ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Company policies, providing our employee-owners with a safe work environment.


Candidates must be able to adapt to changing work environments, be actively engaged in K&W Electric, Inc.'s safety policies, and be able to maintain a positive image of one's self and of the Company.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement innovative strategies with the goal of creating a culture of safety
  • Partner with Project Managers and employee-owners on implementation of safety initiatives
  • Assist with incident investigations to ensure incidents, near misses, and other safety concerns are reported timely and investigated properly; identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Conduct and document job site safety observations and audits
  • Provide safety education and training to all levels of K&W Electric, Inc.'s employee-owners
  • Conduct activities aimed at identifying and reducing or eliminating safety hazards
  • Maintain records, certifications, and other safety related information necessary to maintain compliance with Federal, State, and Company policies
  • Analyze safety data and trends to identify areas of improvement and develop strategies to enhance overall safety performance
  • Ability to respond as needed to in support of all safety emergencies with or without notice


Additional Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new hire safety orientation
  • Coordinate drug testing for new hires and per workplace policy
  • Inspect and document safety equipment
  • Stay current on best practices and regulatory changes


Minimum Requirements and Experience:

  • Ability to collaborate and contribute within a team structure
  • Capability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • A valid Driver's License with ability to meet company driving standards
  • Experience as a Safety Coordinator or in a safety support role preferred
  • First aid/CPR certification preferred
  • High School Diploma/Equivalency
  • Successfully passing drug and background screenings


Salary is negotiable, based on qualifications: knowledge and previous experience.
