Job SummaryHave great customer service and time management skills? Looking to enter into the Bay Area Biotech and Pharma industry? We are seeking individuals who possess a professional attitude, an ability to use technology and systems, demonstrable experience as a hard worker, but most importantly a great customer service mindset. Awareness of formal S&R routines is a plus but not required.
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk role is support within the Lab Services Division. Typical assignments are focused on customer service, package receipt, and on-site delivery tasks. This energetic and detail-oriented person will be part of a larger biotech services company, providing fast-paced inbound and shipping needs for multiple tenants via the operation of a centralized Shipping & Receiving area.
This role is for a Full-Time (40 hour/week), Non-Exempt, Hourly S&R position.
Pay scale for this position is $22.00 - $24.00 per hour.Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a candidate to perform general facilities duties which primarily include, but are not limited to:

  • Receiving packages, entering into Shipping & Receiving tracking database and delivering to site tenants in a professional manner
  • Processing pre-packaged outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, completeness, promptness, accountability, and condition of shipments meet established standards
  • Utilizing company routines and materials management technologies to ensure goods security
  • Acting as an on-site Point-of-Contact for end users regarding Shipping & Receiving support
  • Escorting delivery personnel and special equipment when necessary
  • Safely utilizing pallet jacks, delivery carts, and forklifts, and other S&R equipment
  • Following site-specific SOPs, work procedures, and Shipping & Receiving programs
  • Under the supervision of the S&R Supervisor, maintaining shipping and receiving equipment
  • Traveling between client locations as necessary
  • Ensuring work areas are clean, organized, and safe
  • Performing additional support-level and in-scope S&R tasks as necessary
  • This position reports to: Shipping & Receiving Manager
  • This position has no direct reports

Minimum Training, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and/or Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • Customer Service skills experience
  • Familiarity with the laboratory environment and/or Shipping & Receiving environment a plus but not required
  • Ability to safely lift items heavy packages and carry short distances
  • Ability to operate a forklift; current Forklift Certification a plus but training can be provided
  • Proficient with the Microsoft ecosystem (Windows, Office, Office 365, etc.)
