How much does a runway model make?

Runway models' earnings vary widely based on experience, market, and the designer or agency they work with. On average, they can earn from a few hundred to several thousand dollars per show, with top models earning significantly more through contracts and endorsements. Many models also supplement income through photoshoots, brand campaigns, and endorsements.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A runway model can earn $10,000 or more per month through high-profile fashion shows, campaigns, and brand endorsements, often without requiring a college degree. Success in this field depends on factors like appearance, portfolio, agency representation, and networking, with top models earning substantial income through contracts and commissions.

What is a Runway Model job?

A Runway Model is a fashion model who walks on a runway or catwalk to showcase clothing, accessories, or footwear for designers and brands. They often work at fashion shows, promotional events, and industry presentations. Their role is to present garments in a way that highlights their fit and movement, helping designers market their creations. Runway models must meet specific height and body proportions set by the fashion industry. They also need confidence, excellent posture, and the ability to adapt to different styles and runway choreography.

What are the most common challenges faced by runway models during fashion shows?

Runway models often face challenges such as managing quick outfit changes, adapting to new choreography or themes with minimal rehearsal, and maintaining focus despite distractions on and off the runway. Long hours, physical demands, and high-pressure environments can also be common, especially during major fashion weeks. Successful models develop resilience, adaptability, and strong time management skills to meet these demands while maintaining a professional demeanor. Support from backstage teams and good communication with designers help make the experience smoother and more rewarding.

Is 30 too old to start modeling?

Runway modeling typically favors younger individuals, often in their teens or early twenties, but age is not an absolute barrier. Some agencies and markets are more open to older models, especially for commercial or niche segments, and experience, confidence, and unique look can be valuable assets regardless of age.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Runway Model position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Runway Model, you need physical fitness, strong posture, the ability to walk with confidence, and usually meet specific height and appearance standards. Experience with professional modeling agencies and familiarity with casting processes or booking platforms can be helpful, though formal certifications are not typically required. Standout soft skills include adaptability, poise under pressure, and excellent communication for interacting with designers, choreographers, and other models. These skills ensure you can consistently deliver the desired look, follow creative direction, and represent brands effectively in high-stakes live events.

Head of Finance

ComfyUI

San Francisco, CA • On-site

$200K - $300K/yr

Full-time

Job description

The Role
You'll be finance hire #1 at Comfy.
Comfy is growing fast: 4 million users, a fast-scaling cloud business, and a fresh $30M raise. So far we've run finance out of spreadsheets, outsourced bookkeeping, and founder intuition. That's no longer enough.
As our Head of Finance, you'll build the entire finance function from zero. You'll be the senior-most finance person in the company, reporting directly to the founders, and you'll own everything with a dollar sign attached to it - from the financial model and runway to the next fundraise, from the unit economics of a compute-heavy AI business to payroll, accounting, and controls.
This is a true 0→1 mandate. You won't inherit a team, a model, or a playbook - you'll build them. You'll move between boardroom-level strategy and the operational plumbing in the same afternoon, and you'll bring the financial rigor that lets us make sharp, fast decisions as we scale. Every dollar you help us deploy well compounds into Comfy's trajectory.
What You'll Do
Build the finance function from scratch: Stand up FP&A, accounting, treasury, and controls. Choose the tools, design the processes, and decide what to keep in-house vs. outsource - then run it.
Own the financial model and FP&A: Build and maintain the company model, budget, and forecast. Drive the annual and quarterly planning process, track actuals vs. plan, and turn variances into decisions.
Master a compute-heavy business: Get deep on our unit economics - cost-to-serve, GPU/inference COGS, gross margin, and the levers behind them. Be the person who knows exactly how a usage-based AI business makes (and loses) money.
Manage cash and runway: Own cash flow forecasting, burn, and runway. Give the founders an always-accurate picture of how much time and room we have to maneuver.
Run accounting, close, and controls: Own the monthly close, the books, and the relationship with outsourced accounting/tax partners - and build toward bringing the right pieces in-house as we grow.
Partner on the next raise: Build the board and investor materials, own the data room and diligence, and be a trusted partner to the founders through fundraising and strategic decisions.
Inform pricing and monetization: Work with GTM and Product on pricing, packaging, and the economics of new offerings so growth and margin move together.
Own the critical back-office: Payroll, benefits, equity and cap table management, tax, audit, insurance, and vendor/contract management - the unglamorous things that have to be exactly right.
Build the team: As the function grows, hire and mentor the finance and accounting team behind you.
You Might Be a Good Fit If You
Have 9+ years across strategic finance, FP&A, and/or accounting - including time at a high-growth startup - and have either been the senior-most finance person or a strong #2 ready to step up and own it.
Have built things 0→1: a model, a planning process, or a finance function from a blank page, not just maintained someone else's.
Are an exceptional modeler who can move from a clean three-statement model to a back-of-envelope answer in a Slack thread without losing rigor.
Are equally comfortable with strategy and the operational plumbing - you'll set the financial direction and also reconcile the books.
Understand usage-based / consumption business models and COGS-heavy economics (bonus: AI, infrastructure, or compute).
Are data-literate - comfortable getting your own answers from the data (SQL or BI a strong plus) rather than waiting to be handed a report.
Operate from first principles with high agency and low ego. You bias toward action, communicate proactively, and own outcomes end-to-end.
Are SF-based or willing to relocate to join our in-person rhythm near Alamo Square.
Bonus If You Have
Experience at an open-source, developer-tools, or creator-tools company.
Been a core finance partner through a fundraise (Seed → A → B).
Carried early-stage scrappiness alongside later-stage rigor - you've seen both and know which to apply when.
Used Comfy or have real familiarity with AI creative tools.
Compensation
Base salary: $200K-$300K
Equity: + meaningful equity
Plus benefits and relocation support for SF.
About Comfy
Comfy (https://www.comfy.org) is the AI creation engine for visual professionals who demand control over every model, every parameter, and every output. The most powerful workflow engine for visual AI.
Unlike tools that hide everything behind a prompt box, Comfy lets you connect models, processing steps, and outputs on a canvas where every decision is visible and every step is inspectable. It gives you the building blocks to create workflows nobody's imagined yet, and share them with everyone.
What started as an open-source project in 2023 now has 4 million users, 60,000+ community-built nodes, and 150,000+ daily downloads. It's used by artists, filmmakers, game studios, designers, researchers, and VFX houses, including teams at OpenAI, Netflix, Amazon Studios, Ubisoft, EA, and Tencent.
We're a small, intense team in San Francisco. Our team comes from Stability AI and Google, and many contributed to the ComfyUI ecosystem long before working here. Low ego, high ownership. We work hard and demand a lot of each other, but we have fun. Everyone here is building something meaningful that will end up being our life's work.
If this mission excites you and you view yourself as top-tier talent, your future latent self is waiting for you at Comfy.
Check out our Github (https://github.com/comfyanonymous/ComfyUI) and blog (https://blog.comfy.org). We recently raised $30M at a $500M valuation. The round was led by Craft, with participation from Pace Capital, Chemistry, TruArrow, and others.
