Koney Wealth Advisors, a Private Wealth Advisory Practice of Ameriprise Financial, is seeking a Financial Planning Assistant to join our growing, client-focused team. We are committed to delivering personalized, comprehensive financial planning with professionalism, precision, and care.

This position plays a central role in supporting financial planning operations, advisor workflows, and overall client experience. The role is structured to build upon individual strengths and offers long-term career development opportunities within the practice.


Position Overview

The Financial Planning Assistant supports both financial planning and client service functions by preparing client meeting materials, managing planning workflows, coordinating with third-party partners, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of planning deliverables.

We are seeking a highly organized professional with strong attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and a genuine interest in financial planning and wealth management.


Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Enter and maintain client data within MoneyGuide financial planning software
  • Run planning scenarios and model recommendations
  • Manage comprehensive and foundational financial planning clients
  • Coordinate with third-party planning partners to obtain plan deliverables
  • Review and analyze data for accuracy prior to advisor final review
  • Update financial plans based on client-provided information
  • Maintain financial planning checklists and support onboarding of new planning clients
  • Assist in preparing financial planning presentations and recommendation documentation

Planning Operations & Technical Support

  • Oversee Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) tracking and coordination
  • Develop life insurance reprojections and illustrations
  • Lead preparation and implementation of advisor e-meetings
  • Support research, special projects, and financial analysis initiatives

Client Service & Workflow Support

  • Prepare materials and documentation for client meetings
  • Assist advisors with client service requests (non-trading)
  • Support Client Service Associates and advisory team with workflow management
  • Maintain CRM records with a high degree of accuracy and consistency

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Finance, Business, or related field preferred
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • High level of attention to detail and commitment to confidentiality
  • Collaborative, professional demeanor with a growth-oriented mindset

Preferred (Not Required)

  • Experience in financial planning, wealth management, insurance, banking, or client service
  • Interest in pursuing future industry licensing (Series 7, Series 66, Life & Health), though licensing is not required for this role
