Runway models often face challenges such as managing quick outfit changes, adapting to new choreography or themes with minimal rehearsal, and maintaining focus despite distractions on and off the runway. Long hours, physical demands, and high-pressure environments can also be common, especially during major fashion weeks. Support from backstage teams and good communication with designers help make the experience smoother and more rewarding.

What You'll Do

Role Summary (The Why Now)

As digital channels, web platforms, content systems, and customer data capabilities expandโ€”and AI becomes embedded in how customers discover, evaluate, and engageโ€”we must ensure these capabilities operate as a cohesive enterprise system rather than disconnected tools.

The Principal Enterprise Architect โ€“ Digital & Experience defines the domain strategy, capability architecture, and architecture runway for Avalaraโ€™s digital and customer engagement ecosystem, including web platforms (Avalara.com), marketing and analytics systems, content platforms, consent and privacy systems, and customer data capabilities.

This role ensures that Avalaraโ€™s digital experienceโ€”from initial discovery through ongoing engagementโ€”is architected for scale, consistency, and AI-enabled execution, and that investments in digital platforms produce measurable improvements in pipeline quality, customer experience, and retention.

  • Ensure consistent data flow from digital engagement to CRM, CX, and downstream systems
  • Align customer identity, engagement signals, and lifecycle data across domains
