Experience with professional modeling agencies and familiarity with casting processes or booking platforms can be helpful, though formal certifications are not typically required. Standout soft skills include adaptability, poise under pressure, and excellent communication for interacting with designers, choreographers, and other models. These skills ensure you can consistently deliver the desired look, follow creative direction, and represent brands effectively in high-stakes live events.

What are the most common challenges faced by runway models during fashion shows?

Runway models often face challenges such as managing quick outfit changes, adapting to new choreography or themes with minimal rehearsal, and maintaining focus despite distractions on and off the runway. Long hours, physical demands, and high-pressure environments can also be common, especially during major fashion weeks. Successful models develop resilience, adaptability, and strong time management skills to meet these demands while maintaining a professional demeanor. Support from backstage teams and good communication with designers help make the experience smoother and more rewarding.

How much do runway models get paid?

Runway models' earnings vary widely based on experience, market, and the designer or brand they work for. Top international models can earn thousands of dollars per show, while newcomers may earn a few hundred dollars or less per event. Many models also supplement income through photoshoots, endorsements, and agency fees.

How to get a job as a runway model?

To become a runway model, individuals typically build a portfolio of professional photos, gain experience through local fashion shows or open casting calls, and meet height and measurement requirements set by agencies. Signing with a reputable modeling agency can provide access to casting opportunities and industry connections.

Job description

About Latent

Latent is building the clinical agentic engine for enterprise pharmacy—software that enables leading health systems to serve more patients, grow their pharmacy operations, and capture more value compliantly, without adding headcount. We are a fast-moving team looking for thoughtful, ambitious people who want to help build both the business and the systems behind it.

The Opportunity

Latent is hiring a Strategic Finance to support financial planning, business analysis, and day-to- day finance operations. You will work closely with company leadership and teams across the organization, helping us understand performance, allocate resources, manage spending, and build scalable financial processes.

This is a broad, hands‑on role for someone who enjoys moving between strategic analysis and operational execution. On any given day, you might update the company’s financial model, prepare a budget review, analyze a business decision, negotiate with a vendor, or resolve an invoice.

What You’ll Do Financial planning and modeling
  • Build and maintain financial models covering revenue, expenses, headcount, cash flow, and runway
  • Develop forecasts and scenario analyses to support company planning and strategic decisions
  • Analyze business performance and explain key trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Evaluate investments, hiring plans, pricing decisions, partnerships, and other strategic initiatives
  • Prepare financial materials for leadership, board meetings, and investors
Budgeting and reporting
  • Own or support the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes
  • Partner with team leaders to establish budgets and monitor performance
  • Produce monthly budget-versus-actual reporting and investigate significant variances
  • Build dashboards and reporting that give leaders a clear view of financial and operating performance
  • Improve the quality, consistency, and accessibility of company financial data
Vendor and spend management
  • Manage vendor onboarding, renewals, purchasing workflows, and contract records
  • Help evaluate vendors, negotiate commercial terms, and identify savings opportunities
  • Maintain visibility into software subscriptions and other recurring commitments
  • Partner with budget owners to ensure purchases are appropriate, approved, and within budget
  • Develop scalable policies and processes for procurement and expense management
Invoicing and finance operations
  • Coordinate accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows
  • Review invoices for accuracy, proper approval, and correct coding
  • Track payment status and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Support customer invoicing and collections as needed
  • Maintain organized financial records and assist with month-end close
  • Coordinate with external accounting, tax, payroll, and other finance partners
Building the finance function
  • Identify manual or inefficient processes and develop better systems
  • Document financial policies, controls, and operating procedures
  • Help select and implement finance tools as the company grows
  • Take ownership of new financial and operational priorities as they arise
What We’re Looking For
  • 2–5 years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, consulting, accounting, startup finance, or a related field
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets
  • Ability to turn complex financial information into clear recommendations
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills
  • Comfort managing both strategic projects and recurring operational work
  • Clear, thoughtful communication with colleagues, vendors, and external partners
  • A proactive, low-ego approach and willingness to take ownership
  • Comfort operating in a fast-changing environment with incomplete information
Nice to Have
  • Experience working at an early-stage or rapidly growing technology company
  • Familiarity with accounting, month-end close, and financial statements
  • Experience with financial planning, accounting, procurement, or spend-management systems
  • Experience supporting fundraising, investor reporting, or board preparation
  • Interest in healthcare, pharmacy operations, or health technology
What Success Looks Like

Within your first year, you will have:

  • Built a reliable financial model and forecasting cadence
  • Given company leaders clear visibility into budgets, spending, and runway
  • Improved the accuracy and efficiency of invoicing and payment workflows
  • Established a more disciplined vendor-management process
  • Delivered analysis that meaningfully influenced company decisions
  • Created finance systems that can scale with Latent’s growth
Why Join Latent
  • Work directly with company leadership on high-impact decisions
  • Gain exposure to nearly every part of the business
  • Help shape the finance function from an early stage
  • Take on meaningful ownership with room to grow
  • Join a talented, ambitious team working toward our company mission
