Job description

The RTW coordinator facilitates safe, timely and appropriate return to work outcomes for injured employees. Through working partnerships with CorVel’s clients, the coordinator will identify RTW potential and will coordinate activities to achieve return to work outcomes that are successful for our clients and the employee.

This is a remote role.

Candidates must reside in Tennessee.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Direct contact with the client, injured employees and healthcare providers to determine RTW potential and coordinate RTW efforts
    • Active participation in RTW efforts with examiner and nurse case managers
    • Actively works with physicians to clarify medical restrictions, limitations and their impact on work functionality
    • Works with client locations to identify job functions that can be modified and creates a bank of potential RTW job descriptions for future use
    • Monitors injured workers' RTW status to increase functional ability after RTW period expires
    • Sets follow-ups to review claims where function is expected to increase and/or where release to RTW is anticipated
    • Accurate RTW screen coding and documentation of RTW efforts and outcomes
    • Identify trends and barriers to RTW with internal partners (Customer Delivery) to develop proactive solutions
    • Assist in internal and external audits and presentations, and participates in external customer meetings
    • Additional duties as assigned

    KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

    • Considerable exposure to medical conditions and terminology; knowledge of impact of medical conditions on work functions, job task analysis and worksite accommodations
    • Considerable experience with presenting in front of external customers regarding trend analyses and consultative services on RTW
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and customer service skills
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Ability to prioritize, effectively manage multiple tasks, work in a fast-paced environment and meet multiple deadlines, while maintaining accuracy
    • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Vocational Rehabilitation or related field
    • Minimum of 3 years' providing vocational rehabilitation services or 3 years as an occupational health nurse

    PAY RANGE:

    CorVel uses a market based approach to pay and our salary ranges may vary depending on your location. Pay rates are established taking into account the following factors: federal, state, and local minimum wage requirements, the geographic location differential, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal employee equity, and market conditions. Our ranges may be modified at any time.

    For leveled roles (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.) new hires may be slotted into a different level, either up or down, based on assessment during interview process taking into consideration experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role. The level may impact the salary range and these adjustments would be clarified during the offer process.

    Pay Range: $19.24 - $31.04 per hour
