What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Swimwear Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Swimwear Designer, you need strong skills in fashion design, garment construction, and textile knowledge, often supported by a degree in fashion design or a related field. Proficiency in digital design tools like Adobe Illustrator, CAD software, and experience with pattern-making systems are essential. Creativity, attention to detail, and effective virtual communication help set standout designers apart in remote settings. These skills ensure that innovative, on-trend swimwear pieces are developed efficiently and collaboratively for a competitive market.

What are some common challenges faced by remote swimwear designers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote swimwear designers often face challenges such as limited access to physical samples, difficulty collaborating with manufacturers, and ensuring clear communication with team members across different time zones. To address these issues, designers frequently use digital design tools, schedule regular virtual meetings, and rely on detailed tech packs when coordinating production. Building strong relationships with reliable suppliers and maintaining organized digital workflows are also key to overcoming remote work obstacles in the swimwear industry.

What are remote swimwear jobs?

Job description

About SwimOutlet.com
SwimOutlet.com is one of the largest online specialty retailers for swimming, aquatics, and the beach lifestyle in North America. We supply everything from competitive swimwear and goggles to lifeguard and rescue equipment, deck gear, and aquatic fitness essentials. Beyond individual athletes and families, we partner with the organizations that run the water: parks, pools, patrols, and programs that need reliable gear at scale.
We're building out our enterprise sales function to deepen those partnerships - and we're looking for someone who can own it.
About the Role
SwimOutlet is looking for a driven, relationship-focused Facility Sales Representative to grow our business with aquatic facilities and organizations. In this role you'll own a territory of accounts-municipal and community pools, YMCAs, colleges and universities, K-12 schools, swim clubs, fitness centers, resorts, and other aquatic facilities-and serve as their trusted partner for swimwear, training equipment, deck and pool gear, lifeguard supplies, and team apparel.
You'll be responsible for the full sales cycle: prospecting new facilities, deepening existing relationships, understanding each facility's operational and seasonal needs, and delivering solutions that keep their programs and staff equipped year-round. Reporting to the VP of Sales and Service, you'll be a key contributor to the growth of SwimOutlet's facility and B2B business.
What You'll Do
  • Own and grow a book of facility accounts, driving revenue against monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.
  • Prospect and qualify new facility opportunities through outbound outreach, referrals, industry events, and inbound leads.
  • Build long-term relationships with aquatics directors, facility managers, coaches, purchasing agents, and other decision-makers.
  • Consult with facilities to understand their programming, headcount, seasonal cycles, and budgets, then recommend the right product mix.
  • Prepare quotes, proposals, and bulk/team orders; manage pricing within approved guidelines.
  • Coordinate with customer service, operations, and fulfillment to ensure accurate, on-time delivery and a smooth account experience.
  • Manage the pipeline and account activity in the CRM, keeping records, forecasts, and next steps current.
  • Handle contract renewals, reorders, and account issues, resolving problems quickly to protect and grow the relationship.
  • Stay current on product lines, new arrivals, and category trends to advise customers credibly.
  • Partner with marketing and leadership on facility-focused promotions and initiatives.
  • Represent SwimOutlet at trade shows, aquatic conferences, and regional events as needed.

Who you are
  • Experience selling to aquatic facilities, athletic departments, schools, or in sporting goods / team dealer channels.
  • Familiarity with the aquatics, swim, or fitness industry (personal involvement in swimming a plus).
  • Experience with team/bulk ordering, custom apparel, or facility supply programs.
  • Willingness to travel within territory and attend industry events.
  • 2+ years of B2B sales, account management, or inside/outside sales experience, ideally with a track record of hitting quota.
  • Strong relationship-building, consultative selling, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting to and following up with decision-makers.
  • Organized and self-directed, able to manage a full pipeline and prioritize across many accounts.
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and standard sales/productivity software.
  • Comfort working toward revenue targets in a metrics-driven environment.

Success Looks Like
  • Consistently meeting or exceeding sales and margin targets for the assigned territory.
  • A growing base of active, satisfied facility accounts with strong retention and reorder rates.
  • Accurate forecasting and a well-managed, healthy pipeline.
  • Facilities who view SwimOutlet as their go-to partner for aquatic and team needs.

Why SwimOutlet
SwimOutlet is one of the largest online destinations for swim, water, and active gear, serving athletes, coaches, facilities, and communities. You'll join a collaborative Sales & Service team, sell products you can believe in, and have a direct hand in growing an established B2B channel.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive base salary plus commission / performance bonus.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Generous employee discount on SwimOutlet products.
  • Home-office / remote-work support and covered business travel.

The pay range for this role is:
75,000 - 110,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
