Job description

Position – Production Assistant - Swimwear/Outerwear Ladies Wholesaler Midtown NYC FLSA - Exempt

Reports To – Production Manager (Ladies)

Job Overview - The Production Assistant ensures that the production follows the planned schedule and budget. Review customer’s purchase order or buy sheet and built detailed and accurate cost sheet. Communicate with factories and sales/designer to organize all information and ensure correct information is received and released to factories for bulk production. Track and follow up all production deliverables and status to run smoothly.


Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Manage all e-mail communications with factory and suppliers to make sure that established standards are met.
  • Aid a sourcing/production manager by liaising between a buyer (customer) and a factory by providing detailed designs, preparing production schedules, cost estimates, issuing work orders and keeping progress records up-to-date.
  • Analyze new textiles, raw materials, and competing garment production costs to decide the most cost effective and individualized production recommendations and strategies.
  • Review customer’s purchase order or buy sheet and sent factory order placement instruction for bulk production.
  • Manage “production data” and generate production reports to a production manager.
  • Support production process from start to finish. Instruct vender clearly and accurately in order to make production meets deadline.
  • Manage order processing. Track and maintain data and files for production purpose and provide weekly status report to Production Manager.
  • Communicate with oversea venders on daily basis to ensure the timely delivery of goods and report to Production Manager.
  • Assist Production Manager in creating costing sheets. Work with designer/sales and Production Manager to ensure price list can be present on time.


Qualifications


  • 1-5 years’ experience in apparel industry.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment and under pressure. Has sense of urgency.
  • Good analytical and multi-tasking skill.
  • A team player and work independently.
  • Can work flexible.
  • Good time management and organization skills.
  • Detail oriented and great follow up skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, Microsoft outlook.

Must have strong Excel (Vlook ups and Pivot Tables)
