Job description

Find your calling at Mercy!Medical Assistants (MA) in the medical office setting supports providers by delivering direct and indirect patient care in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner. The MA may assist with clinical procedures, maintains accurate documentation, and provides administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. The MA functions within their defined scope of practice (based on office type clinic/HOD), under supervision, and in alignment with Mercy's mission and standards of care.Position Details:Overview:

Assists with all aspects of patient care as directed by nurses and physicians. Maintains examination rooms. Calls pharmacy with prescriptions and patients with test results. Acts as liaison between all non-clinical co-workers and office management. Responsible for training all new medical receptionists. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Medical Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Experience:
6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.
Certified Medical Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire
