Job description

Printpack is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of Rewind Operator for the Converting plant in Grand Prairie, TX. The Rewind Operator is an entry-level position that is best suited for candidates who are eager to learn, build hands-on experience, and progress into more advanced roles over time. The position is responsible for operating and monitoring rewinding equipment to process finished materials according to customer specifications. This position ensures quality control during the rewinding process and maintains accurate documentation of production activities using systems like PRISM. This will be a 2nd shift position (3pm-11pm, Mon - Fri).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate rewinding machinery safely and efficiently
  • Review and verify job jacket information for accuracy before starting production
  • Enter production data and maintain records in PRISM system
  • Inspect materials for quality defects during rewinding process
  • Monitor tension control and material alignment
  • Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures
  • Communicate with team members regarding job status and quality issues
  • Package and label finished products according to specifications

Education & Experience:
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred

Required Skills:
  • Basic computer proficiency including email
  • Ability to read and interpret job specifications

Physical Demands: The associate will be exposed to the manufacturing environment where hazards and requirements may include but are not limited to:
  • Must be able to lift and handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Capacity to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to climb, kneel, bend, reach and squat
  • Proficiency in grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor skills
  • Visual Acuity for product inspection
  • Ability to wear required PPE (hearing protection, steel-toe shoes, safety glasses)
  • Use of ladders and other equipment
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain forklift and pallet jacks

Work Conditions: The majority of tasks will be performed in a manufacturing setting with exposure to:
  • Noise levels above 85 dB
  • Operation of complex machinery
  • Solvents, fumes and inks
  • Variable Temperatures
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts
  • May require nights, weekends, and holidays
  • An additional $2.50/hr premium for NIGHT Shift only between the hours of 7pm-7am. Any hours worked outside of 7pm-7am will not receive the premium.

  • Must be in good standing with no disciplinary action or attendance issues (Associates in Written or higher stage of counseling are not eligible to apply)
  • Must have performer or higher rating in last review
