As a Rewind Operator and member of the Print Finishing Team you will help bring our customers’ package labels to life, enabling them to stand out over the competition, and create a customer experience that is second to none. Compensation for Rewind Operator will be based on the skills and experiences you bring to Smyth

SHIFT AVAILABLE: 3rd Shift, Sunday-Thursday, 10pm - 6am

Training on 1st shift

Key Responsibilities for Rewind Operator include:

  • Setting up, running, and maintaining CEI Rewind machines in an efficient and timely manner
  • Carefully and thoroughly inspecting completed labels for errors and defects
  • Identifying, recommending, and implementing areas for Lean improvement/modification
  • Performing work based on finishing spec sheet and priorities assigned by the Lead Rewinder/Finishing Supervisor
  • Preparing and maintaining appropriate documentation for assigned finishing tasks
  • Performing preventative maintenance tasks to ensure the reliability finishing equipment

The ideal Rewind Operator candidate must demonstrate:

  • Attention to detail, effective time management, and multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines on multiple long and short-term projects simultaneously
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, as well as read a ruler
  • Self-motivation, being able to work with little supervision at times
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with a diverse group of people and personalities
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization

Education, Skills, and Experience for Rewind Operator:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Required: Can perform heavy work, lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent pushing and pulling heavy items, often lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
  • Required: Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in the English language
  • Preferred: One or more years of related flexographic printing experience
  • A Plus: Experience working with lean manufacturing
