Job description

Description
The Rewind/Packer sets up and operates production equipment, including Arpeco machines and rewind tables, to ensure efficient workflow. This role also prepares finished products for shipment by removing defective items, verifying quality standards, and packing goods accurately in designated containers. Responsibilities also include labeling products correctly, conducting quality inspections, and maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Second Shift runs Monday through Friday, 2:45 PM to 11:15 PM.
Second-shift employees with 90 days of service will receive an additional $2.50 per hour, contingent on attendance and aligned with OMNIs 'Attendance Incentive Program' and procedures, Program duration, incentive amounts, payment schedules, and shift allocations remain subject to company discretion and may be changed, amended, or discontinued at any time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Arpeco and Rewind Table equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Stack and organize finished goods into appropriate containers in accordance with company standards.
  • Perform visual and manual inspections to ensure products meet quality standards before packaging. Report any defects or discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Efficiently pack products into boxes, or other containers, ensuring they are securely wrapped and appropriately labeled for shipment.
  • Identify and remove defective products to maintain quality standards.
  • Transport completed packages for loading using approved power industrial equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of packed items, including quantities, product descriptions, and shipment details.
  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and filed correctly.
    Promptly report safety, quality, productivity, or personnel concerns to the Team Leader.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area. Ensure that packing stations are free from debris and that all tools and supplies are stored properly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience
The minimum education required for this position is a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, carry, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use manual dexterity

  • Required to load product onto pallets which includes bending and twisting during a shift
  • Product will be moved throughout plant using manual or electric pallet jacks. This will require pushing and pulling to move product
  • Mandatory use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Work Environment
Rewind Operators and Packers are regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and frequently encounter fumes or airborne particles. While the manufacturing area is climate controlled, employees may experience relatively warm or cold temperatures throughout the year. Additionally, the noise level in the work environment is usually loud, however, hearing protection is provided and not necessary in all areas of facility.
