Job description

POSITION: REVENUE CYCLE TRAINING SPECIALIST

DEPARTMENT: PFS ACCESS ADMINISTRATION

SHIFT: 8A-4:30P; MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK OUTSIDE REGULAR WORKING HOURS

STATUS: FULL TIME / 80 HOURS EVERY TWO WEEKS

FACILITY: WORK AT MORAINE OFFICE BUT ALSO WILL REQUIRE SOME LOCAL TRAVEL

The Revenue Cycle Training Specialist will demonstrate excellent Peer Relationships and Interpersonal Savvy by maintaining open communication with Revenue Cycle Supervisors/Managers/Directors on issues, opportunities, and situations involving training areas of the Revenue Cycle. This position must use Composure and Deal with Ambiguity in response and relation to the Supervisor/Manager/Director and team as well as internal and external customers of Revenue Cycle Services. This position is responsible for providing basic training for the Revenue Cycle across Premier as well as cross-train for other positions in the event of unforeseen circumstances. In addition, this position will ensure quality customer satisfaction; assist with audits and goals for the department.

The Revenue Cycle Training Specialist is responsible for the design, development, coordination, delivery, and evaluation of computer applications training, customer service training, scripted Revenue Cycle training, and insurance eligibility for end users while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements using appropriate Time Management. The Revenue Cycle Training Specialist will work collaboratively with the Premier Epic training team.

The Revenue Training Specialist must demonstrate Compassion, Patience, Customer Focus and expert Functional/Technical skills while providing training for each new Premier Health Revenue Cycle employee. The Revenue Cycle Training Specialist must comprehend Premier Health’s financial goals and policies to demonstrate and teach new employees patient financial clearance responsibilities. The Revenue Training Specialist is required to maintain excellent customer service standards at all times in order to effectively communicate with Revenue Cycle leadership, physicians, physician offices, patients, and co-workers. The Revenue Cycle Training Specialist is required to efficiently perform all duties while ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy rights.

Education

Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED

Additional requirements:

Preferred educational qualifications: Associate’s Degree preferred in healthcare or related business field.

Position specific testing requirement: Must be proficient in Windows-based computer technology, including keyboarding and typing at least 30 wpm.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • Medical Terminology certification required.

  • Ohio Driver’s License required.

  • Epic certification required upon 6 months of employment.

Experience

Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience

Other experience requirements: Two years of Revenue Cycle or Patient Access experience required. Training experience in a Revenue Cycle, Healthcare or related field required.
