We promote hope and empowerment to persons and families touched by mental illness, substance abuse, HIV and multiple occurring diagnoses, and their related challenges.

 
 

BCCS is seeking a full time certified Medical Assistant / Case Manager for STARS program, a mobile treatment unit.

 
 

The Full-time STARS Medical Assistant / Case Manager has the primary responsibility for: 

  • Providing quality, sufficient and appropriate medical case management and advocacy services to clients served in our outpatient behavioral health treatment program, which includes Medication Assisted Treatment, office-based treatment services, outpatient treatment services. 
  • The Medical Assistant does this by increasing access to care through outreach and enrollment, improving health through education and support, and ensuring appropriate use of health care and behavioral health services. 
  • Complete medical case management duties, including but not limited to: observing random urinalysis, printing lab requisitions and lab orders, data entry and tracking of all urine drug screen results, calling clients for random urine drug screens, ordering supplies, completing prior authorizations for treatment, maintaining a spreadsheet for tracking data related to the STARS program, inputting data into an online database.
  • Driving the RV, scheduling medical appointments or coordinating medical care for patients with outside providers, setting up primary care appts for patients who do not have PCP, documentation related to efforts to schedule medical appointments, verifying insurance.
  • Provide coverage of front desk duties, which includes scheduling, answering phones, transportation orders, etc. The position is stationed at the front desk - there are two workstations in the front office and there is a receptionist stationed there as well, but the Medical Assistant/Case Manager and the receptionist will share some basic clerical/medical office duties. 
  • The STARS Medical Assistant/Case Manager will accompany the treatment team on the mobile unit into the community for client contacts, will make community engagements with local providers, collaborate and coordinate with referral sources, and will attend community events that the STARS unit schedules. 
  • In addition, the Medical Assistant will be the point person for information dissemination and collaboration of clinical and medical services internally and externally. 

Requirements

Hours: 

  • Monday - Friday 
  • 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. 
  • Possibility for community events held in the evenings.

Qualifications:

  • REQUIRED: High School Diploma
  • REQUIRED: Valid Driver's License w/ 2 Points or Less
  • PREFERRED: Medical Assistant Certification
  • PREFERRED: Phlebotomy experience
