Medical Director

Location: Rochester, New York

Salary: USD 170,000 – 200,000 per year. Signing bonus offered.

The Role

As Medical Director, you will guide the hospital's medical vision and standards of care while partnering closely with the practice manager and leadership team. Responsibilities include:

  • Driving hospital growth and continuous improvement
  • Upholding high standards in patient and client care
  • Mentoring and developing medical staff
  • Implementing strategic initiatives that support both operational success and team wellbeing
  • Fostering a positive, inclusive, and mission‑driven culture
Qualifications
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent
  • 4 years post‑graduation experience
  • Strong surgery skills
  • Mentoring skills
  • Active New York veterinary license in good standing (or eligibility prior to start)
  • Active DEA license (or eligibility)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
About the Hospital

This high‑volume, high‑quality spay/neuter and vaccine clinic is dedicated to serving Rochester's low‑income community, as well as numerous rescue and adoption organizations. The team delivers compassionate, individualized care and partners closely with pet parents to ensure trusted, accessible veterinary services.

Hours

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (no weekend hours)
