Job description

Description:

The Center for Reproductive Rights is a global leader in advancing reproductive rights through the power of law. Since its founding in 1992, the Center has played a transformative role in shaping how reproductive rights are recognized and protected worldwide. With offices in five global cities and a network of more than 2,000 pro bono attorneys, the Center employs over 270 professionals working across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States. It partners with local advocates, litigates landmark cases, influences policy, and advances legislation to ensure reproductive autonomy for all people.

The Centerโ€™s work is anchored in a bold vision: by 2030, half of the worldโ€™s population will live under stronger legal protections for reproductive rights than they do today. To meet this ambition, the organization relies on an annual budget exceeding $60 million and an in-kind legal contribution worth over $30 million. Their impact is both measurable and historic. Over the last two years alone, their efforts have strengthened legal protections for 2.3 billion people globally.

The Opportunity

The Center for Reproductive Rights is seeking a bold, strategic, and visionary fundraising leader to serve as Senior Director, Leadership Giving. Reporting directly to the Chief Development Officer and based in New York City, the Senior Director will oversee the Centerโ€™s national major and principal gift programs and lead a team of dynamic frontline fundraisers across the country.

The Senior Director will play a central role in advancing the Centerโ€™s ambitious fundraising agenda in support of its new five-year strategic plan. Key responsibilities include shaping multi-year fundraising strategies, expanding and diversifying the major and principal gift pipeline, and overseeing the execution of benefit events in major philanthropic markets such as New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.

Working in close partnership with the CEO, CDO, and Board of Directors, the Senior Director will deepen relationships with high-net-worth donors and secure transformational gifts. They will bring a record of success in securing seven- and eight-figure gifts and will be skilled at building internal systems that support scale, performance, and innovation.

This is a pivotal moment for the Center and the future of reproductive rights. The ideal candidate will be a mission-aligned, data-informed, inclusive leader with a passion for building collaborative teams and empowering fundraisers to thrive. Candidates should bring experience leading development teams, proven success with major gift portfolios, and a deep commitment to advancing human rights and equity worldwide.

The salary for this position is $245,000.
