Job description

Pride Health is hiring for a Laboratory Director to lead and support daily operations of a clinical laboratory in Junction, TX 76849. This is a direct hire, full-time opportunity offering excellent benefits, a stable schedule, and the chance to work with one of the state’s leading healthcare systems.


Job Summary

This is a working manager role, requiring both leadership responsibilities and hands-on laboratory work as an MT/MLT. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and experience in blood bank operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
  • Perform hands-on laboratory testing as needed (MT/MLT duties)
  • Supervise and manage a small team:
  • 3 Full-Time Technologists
  • 1 PRN staff member
  • Ensure quality control, regulatory compliance, and readiness for inspections
  • Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
  • Support and oversee blood bank operations
  • Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare leadership to support patient care
  • Participate in on-call rotation for weekends


Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience in clinical laboratory operations
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience
  • Blood Bank experience (required)
  • Ability to function as both a manager and hands-on technologist
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory regulations and quality standards
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Shift: Monday–Friday (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, flexible)
  • Pay Range: Starting at $75,000/year (Open for negotiation)
