Responsibilities:

As an IT Audit Intern, you will receive on-the-job training and will assist the IT Audit team in evaluating and improving the effectiveness of our IT controls, processes, and systems. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT auditing within the dynamic environment of the petroleum industry.

As an IT Audit Intern, you will assist in the planning and execution of IT audits, including conducting risk assessments and evaluating control effectiveness. You will document and analyze IT processes, identifying areas for improvement and potential risks. Your role will involve supporting the development and implementation of audit programs and procedures. You will collaborate with IT and business teams to gather information and validate audit findings, ensuring that all data is accurate and comprehensive. Additionally, you will prepare clear and concise audit reports, summarizing findings and recommendations for management. You will also participate in follow-up activities to ensure the implementation of audit recommendations. Staying up to date on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements related to IT auditing will be essential to your role.

Internship Dates: August 17th - December 4th

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Basic understanding of IT systems, networks, and security principles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.

  • Strong academic performance

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Positions are available spring, summer, and fall semesters

  • Concurrent enrollment in a degree seeking program for the duration of the experience

  • Must be able to provide reliable transportation to and from place of work

  • Military experience a plus

  • Availability to work 40 hours per week

  • MIN - $23.65 per hour / MAX - $29.57 per hour
