Job Summary:
Renaissance Technologies LLC is seeking a Dev Ops Engineer to enhance their computer infrastructure. The role involves operating and maintaining various systems while collaborating with research engineers on innovative projects.
Responsibilities:
• operate, improve and maintain computer infrastructure using Slurm, Github, Docker, and Podman
• scale and optimize on-premise Large Language Model (LLM) infrastructure
• collaborate with research engineers to execute innovative research ideas
• build and package open-source software across multiple ecosystems, and maintain on-premise repositories and documentation
• implement and operate monitoring and observability systems
Qualifications:
Required:
• a bachelor's degree in a technical field
• strong troubleshooting and creative problem-solving skills
• excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
• extensive experience designing, deploying, and supporting Linux servers and desktops, and supporting infrastructure
• extensive experience managing, automating, and orchestrating system configuration, software provisioning and application deployment (implementing infrastructure as code)
• experience building and packaging software from source on Linux, managing build ecosystems and repositories
Preferred:
• understanding of systems and network protocols (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS) and UNIX/Linux system internals (kernel, file systems)
• experience deploying, supporting, integrating, debugging, and patching essential open-source and proprietary infrastructure services (DNS, LDAP, Radius, NFS, Kerberos, OpenSSL)
• experience implementing, improving, and operating monitoring and observability systems (ideally open-source)
