Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients to establish their mental health status and treatment needs.
  • Develop individualized therapy plans that address the unique concerns of each client, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Provide regular session support, adapting therapeutic techniques to ensure effective progress through verbal, cognitive-behavioral, and other therapeutic methods.
  • Maintain accurate progress notes and treatment documentation in compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists and medical professionals, to coordinate comprehensive client care.
  • Participate in case consultations and team meetings to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Guiding Light, you will work with a diverse clientele, including individuals struggling with a range of mental health disorders, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use issues. Your culturally responsive understanding will help you engage with clients from various backgrounds, providing tailored support that respects their individual experiences and cultural contexts.

Qualifications
  • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • A valid state license as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in mental health counseling or a related field.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mental health disorders and effective treatment methodologies.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and telehealth applications.
  • Strong crisis intervention skills and an ability to effectively manage challenging situations.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling you to build trust and rapport with clients.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience working in outpatient settings or providing remote counseling services.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and trauma-informed care.
  • Experience in leading group therapy sessions and workshops.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and cultural competence in therapy.
Compensation and Benefits
