Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ribbon Communications SBC SME to join our client's team in a full-time remote role. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Ribbon/Sonus Session Border Controllers, SIP signaling, Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, and enterprise Unified Communications architecture.

This role will focus on designing, implementing, securing, troubleshooting, and optimizing enterprise voice solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure communication platforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, configure, and support Ribbon Communications (formerly Sonus) SBC solutions.
  • Implement and manage Microsoft Teams Direct Routing and enterprise voice integrations.
  • Configure and troubleshoot SIP trunks, VoIP, RTP, SRTP, TLS, and voice connectivity issues.
  • Integrate Ribbon SBC platforms with Microsoft Teams, Skype for Business, Cisco CUCM, Avaya Aura, Mitel, and other UC platforms.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, root cause analysis, system upgrades, migrations, and optimization.
  • Support secure SBC deployments using certificates, encryption, firewall traversal, and network security best practices.
  • Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Provide Level III/IV technical support and guidance for enterprise voice environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience supporting enterprise voice, VoIP, and Unified Communications environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Ribbon Communications (Sonus) SBC platforms.
  • Expertise in SIP signaling, SIP Trunking, RTP/SRTP, TLS, DNS, NAT traversal, and QoS.
  • Experience implementing Microsoft Teams Direct Routing solutions.
  • Experience integrating enterprise voice platforms including Cisco CUCM, Avaya Aura, and Mitel.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Ribbon SBC Edge/Core and Ribbon Analytics.
