How much do remote semiconductor jobs pay per year?

As of Jul 26, 2026, the average yearly pay for remote semiconductor in Oregon is $117,995.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $68,322.00 and $153,600.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What are some typical challenges faced by remote semiconductor professionals, and how are they addressed?

Remote semiconductor professionals often encounter challenges related to collaborating across global teams, synchronizing project timelines, and accessing specialized design or lab equipment. To address these, companies provide secure VPN access, cloud-based EDA tools, and frequent virtual check-ins or meetings to ensure alignment. Successful remote employees proactively communicate progress and issues, leverage virtual collaboration platforms, and may travel occasionally for essential hands-on tasks. This remote model offers flexibility but requires strong time management and a willingness to adopt new digital workflows. With the right infrastructure and support, remote semiconductor engineers can contribute just as effectively as on-site colleagues.

What is a Remote Semiconductor job?

A Remote Semiconductor job involves working in the semiconductor industry while performing tasks remotely, rather than in a physical lab or manufacturing facility. These roles typically focus on design, simulation, testing, software development, or supply chain management using cloud-based tools and collaboration platforms. Engineers, designers, and analysts can contribute to chip development, verification, or optimization from anywhere with secure access to company resources. While hands-on fabrication remains facility-based, many aspects of semiconductor development and business operations can be efficiently handled remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Semiconductor position, and why are they important?

To excel in a remote semiconductor role, you should have a solid background in electrical engineering, semiconductor physics, and experience with integrated circuit (IC) design, often backed by a relevant degree. Expertise with industry-standard EDA tools like Cadence or Synopsys, along with knowledge of hardware description languages (HDLs) and possibly certifications such as IPC or Six Sigma, is highly valuable. Strong communication, self-motivation, and collaboration skills are essential, particularly when working from a distance. These qualifications are vital for maintaining productivity, ensuring seamless project execution, and contributing effectively to cross-functional engineering teams in a remote setting.

Senior Key Account Manager

  • Operate effectively within customer's scorecarddriven supplier management framework, including quality, delivery, responsiveness, cost, and escalation management.
  • Lead Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and routine operational reviews with customer's stakeholders.
  • Maintain an 18month rolling global forecast in close partnership with internal planning, manufacturing, and operations teams.
  • Identify and secure quartzware opportunities associated with new tools, process changes, and future technology nodes.
  • Manage customerspecific programs, including:
    • Supplier Report Card performance
    • SPARC program participation and compliance
    • Consignment and inventory programs, including reconciliation and cycle counts
  • Act as the internal single point of accountability, driving crossfunctional execution across Engineering, Quality, Planning, and Operations.
  • Provide concise, disciplined weekly account reporting to the Vice President of Sales.
  • Maintain consistent, executivelevel communication and professionalism during audits, escalations, and performance reviews.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • 7+ years Semiconductor industry experience required; prior direct Intel experience or longterm Intel supplier experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success managing a large, complex Tier1 OEM account with structured governance and clear performance expectations.
  • Familiarity with the pace, rigor, and accountability typical of major semiconductor OEM customers.
  • Comfortable operating in capacityconstrained and limitedpricing environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading crossfunctional efforts, resolving issues, and driving outcomes without formal authority.
  • Engineering or technical background is a strong plus but not required; technical depth is supported by internal teams.
Work Style & Expectations:
  • Disciplined, organized, and executionfocused.
  • Direct communicator who values clarity, followthrough, and documentation.
  • Calm, credible, and professional under pressure, particularly during escalations or performance reviews.
  • Highly responsive and comfortable with frequent customer interaction.
  • Willing and able to spend time onsite at customer locations as needed.
Location & Travel:
  • Portland preferred but not required.
  • AZ, TX or CAbased candidates welcome.
  • Hybrid or remote work arrangements are acceptable based on customer coverage and onsite engagement needs.
  • Limited domestic and international overnight travel required, with regular onsite Intel presence expected.
