How will you make an impact:

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking an exceptional Director of Strategic Sales to lead our engagement with critical strategic customers in the semiconductor segment. Reporting to the Senior Director of Sales, AMER/EMEA, this leader will be responsible for driving revenue, bookings, customer engagement, and long-term growth across a portfolio of strategic semiconductor accounts based in the United States with global sales impact.

The Director will lead a team of strategic account managers, serve as a senior face of Thermo Fisher Scientific to key customers, and build strong executive-level relationships that support growth, customer loyalty, and adoption of Thermo Fisher solutions.
The successful candidate will combine strategic business development, commercial leadership, technical understanding, and strong relationship management to help semiconductor customers solve complex technology and manufacturing challenges. This leader will coordinate cross-functional teams across Thermo Fisher Scientific to identify opportunities, build account strategies, develop pipeline, support commercial negotiations, and execute complex global deals.

What will you do:
  • Deliver annual bookings and revenue commitments for strategic semiconductor customers, with responsibility for $100M+ in annual business.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of strategic account managers supporting top semiconductor accounts.

  • Build and execute comprehensive global account strategies in partnership with account managers, business units, regional sales teams, service teams, and senior leadership.

  • Develop strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders, including executive, technical, procurement, operations, and manufacturing leaders.

  • Identify new growth opportunities by understanding customer roadmaps, technology inflections, manufacturing challenges, and emerging semiconductor applications.

  • Manage a robust pipeline of opportunities and drive customer adoption across products, services, and solutions relevant to semiconductor customers.

  • Lead strategic business reviews with customers and internal stakeholders to assess performance, identify growth opportunities, and resolve barriers.

  • Support complex commercial negotiations, contract discussions, pricing strategy, and long-term partnership agreements.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment, accountability, and clear ownership for customer priorities.

  • Provide timely and accurate forecasting, reporting, and business updates to senior management and business units.

  • Drive disciplined use of CRM tools, including Salesforce, to manage pipeline, opportunities, customer engagement, and business performance.

  • Monitor, manage, and control team expenses in alignment with business priorities.

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, execution, accountability, and customer focus.

How will you get here:

Education

Bachelor’s degree required; technical degree and/or MBA preferred.

Experience

  • 10+ years of successful sales, business development, or strategic account management experience.

  • Demonstrated experience leading sales teams and managing large, complex strategic accounts.

  • Extensive background in the semiconductor industry, including strong understanding of semiconductor technology, market dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends.

  • Strong commercial skills, including strategic selling, negotiation, contract management, pricing, and complex deal execution.

  • Experience working in a multinational, matrixed organization.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, business planning, forecasting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent executive presence, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems, especially Salesforce, and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute with urgency, discipline, and accountability.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% for customer engagement & internal business needs.
