Job description

Job Overview

Assists specialty patients, family, and health care providers within the specialty service line with all scheduling and appointment coordination needs. Scheduling can include initial evaluations, consult visits, follow-up visits, pre visits, post visit evaluations, and specialty specific procedures. This position is responsible for processing internal and external referrals to the specialty service line. Coordinates care/information with care team and/or administration.

Location: At this time, this position will be working remote (MN residents only)

Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday - Friday, 8:0 AM - 4:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of care/information with care team and/or patient
  • Completes intake with as much data/facts/information as possible to assure appropriate registration and scheduling; obtain insurance coverage to contribute to the process or enablement of collecting expected payment.
  • Collaborates with multiple supervisors, managers, operations directors, and service line leaders to maintain knowledge of, and comply with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Works closely and effectively with clinic team and various departments to ensure patients are scheduled appropriately, in the correct timeframe, and have a seamless experience.
  • Contacts providers and care team regarding urgent issues that need to be addressed in a timely manner.
  • Creates and maintains documentation
  • Documents scheduling and/or referral process in Epic for Care Team and providers to view.

Required Qualifications

  • 1 year experience in patient scheduling and registration in a healthcare setting
  • 2 years of customer service experience
