What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a Sales Development Representative within our Comdata division, based out of Brentwood, TN. This is a hybrid role and only eligible for talent within a commutable distance to Brentwood, TN. This SDR will play a critical role in driving new business growth by generating qualified sales opportunities for our Regional Field Sales team, who sell Comdata’s SaaS-based payment and expense management solutions into the trucking and transportation industry.

In this role, you will focus heavily on outbound prospecting and cold outreach (80+ calls per day) to transportation companies across targeted markets, identifying decision-makers, uncovering business needs, and creating pipeline opportunities for Account Executives. You’ll partner closely with Sales and Marketing to execute lead generation initiatives, qualify prospective customers, and help move opportunities through the sales funnel.

This is a highly visible, high-impact opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, metrics-driven sales environment and is motivated by generating new business. The ideal candidate is self-driven, resilient, professionally persistent, and excited about building relationships within the trucking and fleet industry while developing foundational SaaS sales experience.

You will report directly to the Vice President of Regional Field Sales and regularly collaborate with Sales Leadership and Marketing.

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Generate qualified sales opportunities through high-volume outbound prospecting activity, including 80+ calls per day
  • Build and manage a lead development pipeline across multiple targeted markets within the transportation and trucking industry
  • Prospect into organizations through cold calling, email outreach, networking, social selling, and internet research
  • Identify key decision-makers and qualify prospective customers based on established qualification criteria
  • Schedule meetings and introductions for Regional Field Sales Representatives and ensure timely follow-up
  • Learn and demonstrate a strong understanding of Corpay/Comdata’s SaaS-based payment and expense management solutions and effectively communicate their value to prospective customers
  • Partner closely with Marketing on lead generation campaigns and outbound initiatives
  • Research prospective accounts to better understand organizational needs, industry challenges, and buying triggers
  • Maintain accurate Salesforce records by logging prospecting activity, updating account intelligence, and managing contact information
  • Contribute to critical functions associated with pipeline generation and sales cycle progression
  • Continuously build product, market, and competitive knowledge through internal training, webinars, and industry research
  • Deliver consistent activity levels and performance against monthly and quarterly goals

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 2+ years of business or professional experience preferred
  • Previous outbound prospecting, sales development, lead generation, or cold-calling experience strongly preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong phone presence and confidence engaging prospective customers
  • Ability to understand and successfully articulate Corpay’s solutions and value proposition
  • Experience using Salesforce.com or similar CRM platforms preferred
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to influence and build relationships with a variety of decision-makers and organizations
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively in a high-activity environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and remain resilient through rejection
  • Familiarity with LinkedIn, social selling, and prospecting tools preferred
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong desire to grow within a sales organization
  • Experience or interest in SMB/SME sales environments preferred
  • Strong business acumen and professional confidence
