What is remote roofing?

Remote roofing refers to the use of technology, such as drones, satellite imagery, or specialized software, to inspect, assess, or manage roofing projects without needing to be physically present on-site. This approach is commonly used for initial inspections, measurements, damage assessments, and project planning. It increases efficiency, improves safety, and allows roofing professionals to serve clients in distant or inaccessible locations. Remote roofing is especially valuable after severe weather events or when quick assessments are needed.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote roofing specialist, and why are they important?

To excel as a Remote Roofing Specialist, you need strong knowledge of roofing systems, building codes, and inspection standards, often supported by industry certifications or prior hands-on experience. Familiarity with digital inspection tools, drone technology, and project management software is typically required. Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail help you effectively assess issues and coordinate with both clients and on-site teams. These skills are crucial for accurately evaluating roofing needs, ensuring safety, and delivering effective solutions without being physically present.

What are some common challenges faced by remote roofing coordinators, and how can they be effectively managed?

Remote roofing coordinators often face challenges such as ensuring clear communication with field teams, accurately tracking project progress without being on-site, and managing schedules across different locations. Utilizing project management software, maintaining regular virtual check-ins with crews, and establishing clear reporting protocols are effective strategies to overcome these challenges. Successful remote coordinators also prioritize building strong relationships with both office staff and on-site workers to foster collaboration and resolve issues quickly.

Job description

Daniels Property Group (DPG) is the real estate partner of Daniels Health, supporting the acquisition, development, construction, and management of healthcare and industrial facilities across North America. As Daniels continues to expand, DPG is building an internal construction team responsible for maintaining, improving, and protecting our facilities.

We're looking for an experienced Roofing Foreman to lead roof repair and replacement projects across our national portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing internal construction team where you'll help establish best practices, mentor crews, and directly impact facilities that support an essential healthcare service.

Unlike traditional roofing contractors, our work is focused on improving and maintaining our own properties—allowing for consistent, high-quality workmanship without chasing the next bid.

What you will do
  • Lead and supervise roof repair and replacement projects across Daniels facilities.
  • Direct and mentor internal roofing crews.
  • Oversee estimating, material procurement, scheduling, and project documentation.
  • Plan daily work activities, manpower, materials, and equipment needs.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Coordinate and oversee subcontractors when project requirements dictate.
  • Perform roof inspections and identify repair recommendations.
  • Support additional facility improvement and construction projects as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations and all applicable safety requirements.
  • Work closely with Property Management, Facilities, and Construction teams to prioritize roofing projects.
  • Travel throughout the United States to support Daniels facilities.
What we are looking for
  • 5+ years of commercial roofing experience.
  • Previous experience leading roofing crews as a Foreman or Superintendent.
  • Experience with commercial roofing systems including TPO, EPDM, PVC, modified bitumen, metal roofing, and roof repairs.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and roofing best practices.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.
Why work for us
  • Essential and stable industry – As a critical partner to healthcare, Daniels Health offers year-round job security in a recession-resistant field
  • Mission-driven work – Make a meaningful impact by supporting safer, more sustainable medical waste management
  • Strong safety culture – We prioritize your well-being with enhanced PPE protocols and a commitment to workplace safety
  • Growth opportunities – Be part of a company that invests in its people and promotes from within
  • Comprehensive benefits – Enjoy medical, dental, and vision coverage starting on Day One, plus additional wellness and insurance options
  • Supportive team environment – Join a collaborative, values-driven culture where your contributions are recognized and respected
If you're looking for a stable, mission-driven role where your leadership makes a real impact, we’d love to hear from you. At Daniels Health, you’ll be part of a team that values safety, innovation, and people. Apply today and take the next step in your career with a company that’s transforming healthcare waste management for good.
